without a doubt it is a bit risky. even if there is better than a 50% chance that one of those ways would work there is no guarantee. if the judge is having a bad day and it fails then you'll get the points, from then on the only way to remove them is to take traffic school. if you're on your best behavior i would bet from the fact that they see these cases all the time and dismiss alot of them he'll let you go but still no guarantee.

alright if yu dnt have a problem with money then pay someone, that a ok but all im saying is if money was an issuethen actually studying the shit would save you. i have documents that can get yu out because what you people fail to understand is the court wants moeny without the hassle. there are so many people like yu ready to just pay and theres so many of those people that they are not going to worry about yu and let yu off. shit is nothing but a word game and if yu fail it up wtf is the worst that can happen, you end up paying the fine like yur going to right now. just my 2 cents 2
I see mixed advice here that can help u but also hurt u... and like the rest I will throw my .02 from my experience of 27 tickets in 13 years of driving.
call a few lawyers, anything can be taken to court and it is the better way, u might pay a similar amount for a lawyer but u r less likely to get points... points make ur insurance go ^, points mean u fucked up... either u admitted to it or the gov had proof. bottom line u look bad for the insurance. some time the cop wont show n it will get dismissed but if u represent urself n the cop does show what would u do? how would you go about proving that u didnt speed.
u can only elect traffic school 5 times in ur life time, however if the judge sends u to it it doesnt affect ur 5 times, also electing traffic school reduces the cost of the ticket a small % but u have to pay for traffic school so u end up paying more $ in the long run... but NO points which is what it all comes down to.

Exactly, no points is the unlimate goal lol. Even if you have to pay up the ass for a laywer and court costs, as long as you have no points your ok.
But if you represent yourself (like I have 80% of the time) you either have to have some solid proof that you are a innocent bystandard in all of this, or hope the cop doesnt show up like Juan said. Like if you were to represent yourself and you go with the "Cordobes" defence with the cluster defect. The judge could either dismiss it OR could just give you court costs with NO points or something like that. Ultimately anything that makes you look more innocent the better your chances of getting lower court costs and no points.

You should for sure go to ticket clinic (or any other place). you don't have to go to court they go for you. I have 8 tickets and no points. You may pay a lil more but you won't get points. You will get points if you just pay it. I have a friend who works for ticket clinic, if you have questions you can pm me.

the worst that can happen is they can decide to charge you a $500 fee on top of paying your ticket and lawyer fees. but thats just if you're an ass hole and they hate you.
