ka--t 240 ? guys

Felpro makes a permatorque MLS headgasket for a KA, and it doesnt have sealing issues like the shitty cometic.

That + ARPS + good compression/tune = hold on.

why are sr's over rated, and have u ever driven a decent sr?

Owned a SR on 15#s, t3 + 440s.
Owned a KA-T on 15#s on a smaller t3 + 550s, shit raped.

But all in all, both are awesome if done right.

ur silly, try a gt2871r on 740's, with a good tune.....

the only issues with sr's is price for replacement parts and torque
SR's as hp goes up torque goes down
KA's as hp goes up torque maintains a steady rise
look up dyno sheets of both motors
65% of the ka's with iqual boost as sr's have better torque and hp bands, and if you look further an sr with 400 hp has around 280ish+/- trq a KA with 400hp has 320ish+/-
that is a good enough diference to weigh in favor of the ka
torque is what moves the car, hp maitains the wheels spinning, so the better the torque the sooner in the power band the faster it feels..... becuase for it to be fast alot of other things need to work in conjuncion....... suspencion/driver/climate ect.....
this turned into a debate on who prefers what motor set up

answering your original question though, stock bottom with a clean rebuilt head stock felpro and arp studs are good for 6-7psi well tuned, i mean WELL tuned that will give you 200ish at the wheels with a small t3

Yeah 400+ sr's
Not enough torque for me
and ka are way easier to make power then sr I'd much rather have a iron block
and everybody says ka-t are very unrealible but I see more problems with lifter rocker knock ect then anything on this
board on sr
I like to be able to go to the auto parts store and buy part also
just not a person to wanna jump on
the jdm bandwagon

ok so my setup was wisco piston but i melted the second set because calum took forever! to give it back the comp to me . so i bought a new ka and what i have to put on it is calum computer with sard 862's inject, apr head studs, the egale rods, with a lighting maf . the turbo is a 60-1 easly and 280rwh at 8psi lol with my last built with no computer and stock injects so...... i really dont wanna throw down more money for pistons and cometic (cuz i always have a prob)but im really giving up on this ....:(

I'll buy the rods if there good and it sounds like you need a enaplthy tune
get.yourself a z32 maf and call Scott for a tune shit will ride with no
problems

and you don't need that big of an injector 550 would be plenty for a 400whp

well i got the calum and im gonna use realtime . and my egale rods are good just those damn wiseco's keep melting but i guess its because of not tunning.

That's the most importaint thing on
a ka-t setup
you NEED a tune cause your taking a n/a motor and forcing air into it of coarce it's going to
freak out
and I'm telling you fuck all that calum and real time shit
send your ecu to
enaplthy tell him what you have and plug that bitch in ride out never have a
worry again no tuning no wideband nothing what fpr are you
using
pm me or aim if you want more info to
save you headaches down the road

Just sell all that shit and get a enaplthy tune
last time I looked it was 500 for the tune and 150 every retune if you
decide to change your setup
he doesn't tune with lightning maf though you need a z32 maf
he stAnds behind his work he's in Tampa just send your ecu to
him with specs and he sends you It back
almost all the hk guys had or use enaplthy enjuku racing
sells his tunes on there's site also

and you can run any boost w/o a retune unlike jim wolf tunes and ect

Scott no longer owns RS Ethalpy, Martin with Z-fever now does.

Really when did that happen I'd still use ethalpy tune reguardless

fuck no im putting a v8 in after my ka blows all i need is a oilpan, and drive shaft. But i like na ka i dont like to wait for power
I don't wait for power 2200 I have boost which isent shit I run a.50 to reduse lag plus I have mid mount they say that helps

enthalpy is good for sr guys, scott still does some chiming in but he has no more buisness rights
they are not that great for ka-t , kinda takes them a coulpe of trials and errors to get it right,
you can build to ka's exactly the same and the bitches will never put the same power down , dont know why, sr's are pretty much iqual as bulding and getting similar results

Please dont talk again, you cant spell EQUAL.

I know 20+ people running KA-t enthalpy tunes from Scott/Chris that lay down 350-400 on stock internals without problems.
