ka-t issues rough idle runs without maf

basically my car has its engine light on , rough idle bouncing from 300 to 800 and runs without the maf plugged in? also looks like white smoke coming out and my spark plugs keep getting raped.. all fouled and black

If i crack the throttle open alil it idles alil better at 900 to 1000....

if this means anything too it started when i was driving it the other day, I reached 4th gear and was rising to about 5k and it felt like a automatic car stopping me. it dropped to idle (900) and then the engine light when on but it still acted normal. I only noticed more whitish smoke
 
But just rebuild thats it? Alot of white smoke and is sluggish past 3k... im thinkin headgasket cause the white smoke?
 
yes thats what it sounds like its gonna cost you the same to buy another motor asit is to do the headgasket so you might as well rebuild it. or buy another ka just to get it running and rebuild the one in the car.
 
its a rebuilt ka24de, it blows alil white smoke on idle (idling at 1k, throttle plate open alittle) it goes past 3k but I cant floor it i can only slowly climb, how do I know if I cracked a piston? if its just the headgasket I can work with that
 
fuhhhh its my daily.... white smoke it coolant right? i think im gonna drive it for like 2 more days then check my dip stick and my radiator... if low then its the headgasket?
 
its not low at all... infact I fucked with the throttle screw and idle screw and now its got a good steady idle on 1k doesnt shake but white smoke... when I unplug the maf and replug it in, it does nothing... I can drive with no maf this makes no sense..
 
Does the smoke fade away immediately after it exits the muffler or is it thick enough to carry a bit of a cloud?
 
it doesn't do it at first, when I start it maybe 5mins in I will see very light white smoke from the exhaust, when I drive it on the mainroad and get to a red light theres noticeably alot more white smoke probably a small cloud, I know the maf is doin nothing...plugged in or not yet I can drive past 2500
 
try plugging a different maff yours might be fcked up.and it could also be the seals on your turbo could be blown
 
hmmm definitely gonna try that... but could a bad maf turn the engine light on?
also whats a good idle for ka-t everything I see online is 700 or 1000

wat codes r u getting
wat does the smoke smell like?
fuel or no?
do a compression test...
and a leak down..if possible
if all checks out then
make sure maf is getting proper volts etc
blk/wht..12volts..
wht....0.5 volt frm ecu
blk...ground...
if it is change out maf...
 
thanks for all the help guys I figured out what happened... the day i was shifting into 4th , my emance tuned ecu, the daughterboard chip inside fell out of its place... I opened the ecu plugged it back in, now it runs great! only thing now is my idle is at 1000 and i think it has something to do with the tune but i cant rev in neutral idk atleast i can drive it now.

I also wanna say thanks to everyone and this forum. I wouldnt of know jack shit about cars if it wasnt for this site. thanks!
