ka-t issues rough idle runs without maf

Do a LEAKDOWN test!!! don't pull your motor apart

White smoke is coolant.

Check your MAF wiring, and your Grounds.

My RB did the same thing with my bad harness.
It would run roughly with or without the MAF.
I'm not sure why you have smoke, but the MAF issue seems to be wiring
 
MAKE SURE THAT THE TIMMING IS SET CORRECTLY FIRST AND FOREMOST
THEN SET THE IDLE SPEED....
HAVE CAR UP TO OPERATING TEMP
TURN OFF
UNPLUG TPS
START ENGINE AND SET IDLE SPEED
THEN PLUG IN TPS...
THIS SHOULD GET U INTO THE CORRECT IDLE SPEED..

UPDATE: so I tried what you said sr and I can get the idle down to like 800... but the car will shut off while driving again.. I messed with the idle screw and throttle screw and got it to 900-1000 running good... I smell a faint smell of gasoline... im not sure if thats because I have full exhaust 3" ( with some exhaust leaks ) and thats normal.. I dont see any smoke... It runs great, I just dont wanna break anything or drive it wrong

EDIT: I also lowered my idle fuel pressure to like 37-38, it stopped the random backfiring...

alrightyyyy UPDATE: thx sr I checked out the idle screw and decided to take the Iacv off and clean it, it was horribly black so I cleaned it, installed it and car runs way better, only problem is I guess somewhere in plugging the iacv plugs back in must of tripped something cause my cluster lights dont work... another problem to the list ..
 
check fuses..
check the marker lights cause there connected to the same circuit

your running lights probably don't work either then.
 
again thx guys for the support Im not rich and i troubleshoot like crazy before I try anything to my car.. I checked all my fuses and I guess I missed it the first time.. lights fixed now.. ya im stupid..... but ya she seems to run good now except for the idle being around 1000 and if I push the gas fast the car will either studder or stall out... only happens at idle and 1st gear
 
hella flush told me to check the bov I sprayed it with throttle body but no cigar, no smoke at all.. i do smell a faint smell of gasoline every once in awhile but I think its because of the exhaust leak I have towards the catback

EDIT: btw sr you still ave that s13 in the pic? thats the baddest shit ive ever seen, you make me wanna get a silvia hood lol
