So I was having a transmission whine (whine stops when clutch is disengaged) in my sr20det 6 spd, took it over to a cool mechanic dude. Turns out I was low in tranny fluid but fluid is clean. Put some more in, noise doesn't go away. So I am planning to drop the tranny to see whats up and if it needs to be rebuilt ill trash it, shop owner has an extra KA tranny anyway. My question is if I use the bellhousing from the sr (its deeper cuz the flywheel is different than the 5sp) can I still use the dual mass flywheel?
...or should I just get a 5sp bellhousing and new flywheel...

I highly doubt it, but when the tranny is down I will see. My question is more if I can retain the fywheel. Also I guess I would need a new driveshaft and transmission crossmembers.
