Anyone legitly know what RPM the timing chain and bottom end are good for on the KA24DE? If I were to raise the rev limit Id no doubt go for ARP for the bottom end and valve train reguardless but im not so sure about the timing chain setup.

least 12,000rpm on a stock ka timing chain but you can spin the bottom end to atleast 15,000rpm safely:bigthumbu

usually the redline marked on the dash gives you a pretty good indication. also horsepower sometimes drop below or way below the red line.. so why would you need higher rpms?

im sure he was kidding, but f not..:ugh:

LMAO

it depends on the set up, If it has cams, srpings, rocker arms, custom intake/exhaust mannys, ported head, injectors maf and tune, it could raise the hp peak to a higher rpm.

but in that case you would probably know the rpms you should top up after that 10k invested lol

the chain wouldnt really be the part id worry about, you have to have a complete package between properly set up head for high rpms, plus a properly balanced and blueprinted bottom end(lightend and knife edge crank def, so your not worry about that rotating mass and oil accumilation on it). but my biggest concern on a ka would be the single 10mm bolt holding the center transition gear for the two chains. your going to have a lot of stress on that single point connecting the bottom end to the top end. not saying it cant be done but its going to be pretty costly to build.
