Ka24de Tranny Prob,not Sure

ok like the title says im not sure wats the problem wit the engine. on thursday of last week i was in the doral area of nw 36st near tgk. wen i was headin home on the 826 i noticed that wen i would accelurate the rmp guage was responding rising up to like 6gs but my mph was stuck on 10mp and slowly rasing to 15 mabye 20mph. after like 5mins of me playing wit acceluration. it was working fine. next day like in afternoon it happened again but wasnt able to recover. i wanna know if this could be tranny or something and if it is wat would i have to do to repair. but at same time if the costs are high might as well save for my sr20. any advice on situation or how to repair would be appreciated

i might not think its speedsensor b/c wen rpms are high the speed-o is low like at 15mph and its not like the speed-o is reading wrong cause it isnt

are u actually only going 15 mph and ur rpms are at like 6 gs then u have a slipping clutch ... if u are actually feeling the car going to 6 gs (way faster than 15mph) then its ur speed sensor ...

u mean torque conveter. cuz mine is auto and u feel the motor raising in rpms but u still are going 15. its not like u feel like ur going 60mph and speedo just reads 15. see now thats speedsensor related. now im sure its gotta do wit tranny not transferring power or sumthing like that .just not sure of wat is exactly causing the problem. now just yesturday i drove it to see if it felt any better and realized that the overdrive button light wasnt on

eh from what i have experienced with auto 240s they slip horribly even with a friend old car that they bought with like 60000 original miles .. 5 spd it and ur done

yeah i agree bout the auto trannys. bout a an aout 240 amd it was costantly switching back and forth from 3rd and 4th while drivin. even on the highway doin like 90 i would do it. and constatly drivin at high speed at high rpms caused me to blow a headgasket, which led to the motor over heating and blowing due to a bad coolant temp sensor. this led to warped heads. yay.
