Hey guys.....This is the first time I will do a trubo kit on one of my cars....I want to turbo kit my 240. Is it easy? If not, how hard is it? also how or wher should I tune the car at? Does anyone have an extra downpipe laying around?

y0 I am so serious when i tell you to forget about turbocharging the stock block ka and just get an sr20. If you want a super duper ka-t then rebuild one with forged internals, but then its a whole different ball game.

You can make 350whp all day on the stock sr20 bottom end with a larger turbo and correct tuning.

Say you buy the sr20det and swap it in you can spend the same money and build your ka and get more tq and hp.

Not True^ maybe with SSAC Parts, but bottomend internals the right one will cart around $1500+ and sending the block out to the machine shop and also crank to get balanced and blue printed because if your gonna turbo the ka you gotta do it right! dont forget about cams and a metal headgasket and arp studs-$550+ now the manifold will bearound $400, turbo-$800+ depends what type and sizing! your already 3K so a ka24det build up is NOT Cheaper but horsepower and Torque are greater when boost #'s are applied. But also Sr's rev higher faster and the drop Rmp faster alot faster than a KA. Both motors have there plus and minus, Go with what every you have the money for and are looking for as such power, tourqe, reliable, and vechile application! either one is a great motor, ive done both setups i went from an sr to about 5 ka-t setups and now im back to an SR and i love it but ill tell you one thing I miss the Torque of my KA-T!

turboing a ka with forged internals will run you the same amount if you were to buy an sr have it put it, buy intercooler and everything else it needs to run. trust i've did the math and even kinda did some lowball pricing on some of the stuff if i were to get a deal on them. the only reason many people go to sr is because they dont know the true potential of a ka. more displacement equals more torque equals more slide trust me, however it is better to get the fully built ka then just a regular stock block, they do tend to blow with all the miles that they have one them. research www.KA-T.org

Right but how long will your ka stay together?

again i will tell everyone to purchase a sr20 and roll on something nissan assembled that already had a turbocharger slapped on there. Its just so much easier.
