Marines

If it helps I was unofficially part of the JROTC Raiders in South Miami Sr. High '01- '03( the best in all dade county but I was never in JROTC) and it's the most difficult team to get into...football practice was cake lol So yea I was just waiting on getting my citizenship to join and not risk getting deporting after my tour of duty.
I'm to the far left arms folded at 16 yrs old

if your smart you can do air force. i was tossing air force and marines around ALOT but other opportunities came up. if you wanna go on adventures but be treated like shit and have an adrenaline rush......do marines. if you want to be cozy in a/c and make 90,000 a year do air force and become an air traffic controller. you only work 3 hours a day and like a few days a week

I'd rather be a grunt than a pencil pusher:p

But, the ''USA'' you speak of is not the country I would fight for, its, like you said, a conglomeration of shadow corporations lurking beneath the legal cover of a nation and the military-industrial complex who rake in massive profits from conflict.

Well said....

i suggest USN.. we do nothing!.. trust me.. regardless of Rate (job).. im a MA, Master at Arms (Cop).. i have been in for 4 yrs.. from my personal experience most people are lazy sacks of shyt.. so it is very easy to stand out.. i stand out very well and have a desk job.. in my command (department) of 400 people.. i am the top person of my rank.. people of my rank dont get desk jobs..

no brain washing.. no war unless you become a medic for the marines and/or volunteer to go.. this shyt is cake.. i live in a royal oaks (if you know where that is) quality townhouse with 3 rooms and 2 & 1/2 baths for FREE.. i would say the most important part of joining the USN is choosing your rate (job).. i am currently in the process of changing my rate (converting).. i am converting to CM (construction mechanic).. and yes it is exactly what you think.. they do everything from rebuilding engines to body work to paint.. all government provided schools and training for free.. and hands on experience.. the USN is the only branch that operates like civilian facilities.. no rifleman, etc.. i recommend the USN to every1 that feels like they are going no where fast.. thats why i joined.. it cant get any better.. for more 411.. PM me..

In the Navy. Moppin guys poop decks and having guys drop ancor in your pantellones.

thats a pretty gay statement.. thanks for sharing..

so yea the Navy is NOT the military.. it is very commercial.. trust me..

Meeting w/ the Recruiter on Tuesday (my 24th B-day ^_^) BUT I'm not sure whther I want to go full time (meaning not seeing my family for 4 years and break up w/ my girl ::going on 3 yrs:: but I get to travel past Orlando for the very 1st time) or Reserves (Stay here in Miami w/ Family+ Girl find a civilian job and finally finish MDC). BTW I told the Recruiter that I have a GED but have 9 college credits and enrolled for 2 classes(3 credits each) this upcoming semester :: You need 15 college credits to sign up in the military if u have a GED::. Should I tell him that I'd rather wait till I pass the classes til I sign any contracts?

you won't have any binding contracts until boot camp. they won't process all your paperwork until then. u could tell them u rather wait to get your credits before you get DEP in. I'd suggest reserves, I'm active now living in socal, its fun, I like it, but I miss MIA like crazy. there is ALOT of bullshit that Marines put up with that the other branches don't. living in the barracks sucks (unless you luck out and get one of the new barracks), it is the most loved and hated branch of the military, the amount of work you do is not worth the money you make, until you get to the higher ranks. ask your recruiter what the "cutting score" is for MOS you want (the lower, the faster you pick up rank).

from a prestige, respect, and quality standpoint. I love the Marines

for quality of life, I'd go USN or USAF

my .02

gl with your decision, boot camp is not as bad as you think (its not easy, but its not impossible)

i agree with him ^.. what do you want to get out of the Military?..

by the way i recommend active>reserve any day.. your missing out on the best part of the military which is traveling and living in foreign places FOR FREE..

me and the wifie met in high school.. and were together for 2 yrs.. then i left for 18 months which included going home on leave about every 4-5 months.. then we came to italy and live in a big ass crib for free.. happily ever fucken after!.. i think that reserve shyt is a scam.. do your time.. do it right and then decide if you want to get out or continue..

i want to travel but i wanna take care of my mother w/ $$$. any advice since if i go in the reserves i have to look for a job which is hard in MIA but active duty im garanteed my MOS if I survive Iraq 1st, right?

I just came back from taking the ASVAB! I got a 45:eek: but I passed to join the Marines. I just need to do some things there and I can officially sign up. I decided I'm going to do Active Duty hopefully get into Okinawa or Hawaii:D

with a 45 im pretty sure you could be a cop in the navy.. MA is the rate (rate= is navy verbage for MOS)..

g/l with the active duty.. guaranteed money on every 1st and 15th and you can set up a direct deposit for the ol girl (dont recommend it)..

^^ I dont think so, lowest to qualify for Navy is 35. So, 45 isnt far off nearly failing. Marines lowest is 32 to qualify. Good luck, it's gonna be tough to get anything really but infantry.
