Marking Of Drift Cars At Events Not Coming Off

HEy they have a point. if my car was nice i wouldnt want that shit on my paint. then again its all of the drivers fault for letting that shit fly by. if i see the guy Not marking my window and going to mark my car i woulda been like

i know desoto use vinyl numbers to identify the car that could be an option for those who like their car well painted and cant afford to re paint them if things like happen.... just a suggestion

the problem is not identifyin a car is to mark the number of runs. it dosnt matter the car but they care for the number of runs so we all get our turns. like me sometimes i skip a run or 2 but i comeback and since i dont have the dots i get to go all my runs till i catch up.... kinda.

well just do like Autocross and give people a number and someone has a list of the cars and numbers and just marked it on the paper not the cars..... i think it might work better and you can use painters tape to put the number temporarily :)

^^^ true ... have a list with the numbers on it and tally it when ever you see that number come up.

if you guys were not liars there wont have to be a reasons to mark up cars... the reason cars get marked is because people were not telling the truth about the number of laps.... and for the record i do have a pretty car....

god damn liars making us lose seat time because of their god awful lies.

Reason we due dots is so that it is fair to all the drivers. All drivers get the same amount of runs. Now we could just run the groups by time(30mins per group) but everyone would get different amount of runs and then they complain about how one guy got 10 runs and they only got 3. Again we are sorry that this happened. We won't let it happen again if you have anymore problems, comments or ideas please bring it up to us in person tomorrow at the Skid Pad.

Anyone here who has been to an Equipe Rapide AutoX has seen the little stickers they put on your windshield before the start of the event. The sticker has runs written on it, run 1, run 2, run 3, and so on. Before a run, some dude marks off the run with a pen. The stickers fall off by themselves a couple of days later. Just an idea, anyone been to an ERSCC AutoX knows what I'm talking about.

deez fools know not to do that shit to me. hahahaha. but i did see that happening and was like !?!?!?!?! shit.

get stickie dots, or like stars, or like anything that dosnt run in the rain, or make peeps buy a # stickie to put on the 1/4glass.

also kp... weres the footie son?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

You want to make this really cost effective. Buy a rolls of blue painters tape, goes for about 5 bucks. Every time someone goes for a run, some dude tares off a strip of tape and tapes it onto the cars fender or something. How many strips of tape do you have pasted on your car? 5 strips of blue tape = 5 runs, or some shit like that. Blue tape doesn't come off(if put on properly), unless you're going fighter jet speed, then I can't help you there, the tape may come off.

You guys need to come up with a solution of your own. The track is not responsible for your car anyway. You are lucky these guys are nice enough to try to come up with a solution to help all of you. Some other people would of told you to stop crying and STFU. In the end it is YOUR car and YOU need to protect YOUR investment. It is not the tracks responsibility to keep your car pretty, they are already doing enough to provide you a fun, safe, and secure environment to slide your car. They mark your car to aid in keeping track time evenly distributed among drivers as mentioned before. If the track has to spend any more money to help you guys out, it can possibly directly affect our prices upon entry and registration.

How about YOU buy painters tape, or a vynil patch and stick it to your OWN car and make it a designated spot primarily for marking purposes? Both are cheap and effective ways of protecting your paint...

too much money man...... keep it simple...keep it cheap...just use painters tape :)! or everbody gets a number and a piece of paper :)

Even if, they use the same paint to mark the numbers, won't make much of a difference...

The problem is that "we" is a very select few...

Some of the ideas thrown out will add more to the event staff and make it harder on them.

I looked at some of the ideas given out, they are not bad ideas. They do have their pros and cons.

Sticker markers:
Pros:
Cheap, effective, simple, easy replacement to the paint
Cons:
Can easily be removed, will not adhere with the amount of dirt on the car after half a day, will easily come off when wet. (situational: if you use a rag or towel to remove dirt, it can leave fine scratches and swirls in your paint, and paint is the reason why this thread is created...)

Vynil/magnetic numbers:
Pros:
Very effective at marking cars (more than one person can keep check. Integrity purposes) Gives eveyone a designated number.
Cons:
Need more people to pay attention to keep track of drivers, Vynil is not easiest to remove, leaves adhesive residue. Very expensive

Paniters tape:
Pros:
Cheap, good replacement to paint, can be used with the paint
cons:
can leave adhesive residue

Another idea with painters tape, since it is relatively cheap and can easily be located at any store. Just buy some tape for yourself and make a strip/ corrner on the windshield or any window and have that as a designated marking area. It will come off easily and protect your paint. all you might have to do is remove the residue that is left behind, when you remove the painted tape...

EDIT:
^^^^ he has the same idea as I do lol

Exactly all these people wining about having to pay half the money to slide at countyline compared to any other track and ending up with some marks on your car bring something to prevent the red dots on your car or don't make some stupid ass thread. Pre-maddonas! Its a car its going to get beat the fuck up in the long run anyways so stop crying or buy yourself a 240.
