Massive Help!!! Please Help!!!

Here's the deal, I bought a 98' kouki about 3 months ago and have had some serious issues with it. The car has had a 5 speed swap done before I got it and I have fixed most of the issues.

However the problem now is that I have the engine cranking up, but there is no SPARK, the car is getting fuel but i cannot get spark...

I have replaced the spark plugs, plug wires, distributor, distributor cap, rotor.

I have also checked all the grounds and even took my ecu out of the car and tried it in another s14 and it worked with no problems.

If anyone could help me that would be great...I think it might be something with the engine harness...but im not sure...

did it just do this from one minute to the next, how was it running before... etc etc etc. more info required

i had something and then realized its an s14 lol nvm... but yea wat did u mess with before this started happening

I didn't mess with anything...when the car was purchased the motor was in and the wire harness was all hacked up...at this point the car cranks but there is no spark...would the timing cause it to not have spark...

wires that connect to the dizzy may be hacked up check for voltage there since you replaced everything from that point foward... If you have power check timing if you have no power trace wires back till you find power. Congradulations you have found an open in your harness pat yourself on your back then move on from there. on an auto swap on a s14, near the fuse box next to shock tower there is a plug that needs to be jumped or will not run check that

Yes. I didn't know that and was down for almost 3 weeks until Finkelstain came in a white horse wearing armor for some reason and fixed it. Even though every foken wire reads a charge all the way up to the coil, if timing is off then there's no signal for the coil to fire and the foken thing just doesn't do it. I don't know the whole terminology and science behind this magical carriage shit, but get a timing gun and find that pesky top dead center and time the summabitch correctly.

Already jumpered...is cranking over just not starting...when the plug wore is out it doesn't give off any spark or attempt to fire...

I'm not really sure if I understand what you were trying to say...but I'm gonna check the timing this weekend...thanks

maybe no power to the ecu since the wiring was all hacked make sure ur ecu is getting the juice it should....is the light turning on the ecu?

i havent checked if the power is getting to the ecu...also a friend was saying to check all the major grounds...but could all of this cause it to not give any spark...also sorry for the noob questions if anyone is annoyed...

check the crank position sensor that is located on top of the tranny bell housing
these are the things that could be wrong
1- its unplugged
2- its plugged in but went bad.... cost 54 bucks at autozone
3- it is possible that the tranny used was from an s13, they are the same trannys but obd2 trannys use a crank position sensor, its easy to drill the hole and install it but many times the hole is drilled at a slant and will not allow the sensor to read properly the flywheel
hopefully its an s14 tranny and the sensor went bad , cause thats the direct link to the spark

QUESTION

When you got the car, was it running?

no motor was just in car and harness laying across it.

It has a crank position center but how do I check for sure if it's an s14 tranny or just s13 that was made to work

the hole would be drilled not cast in, and it would be hard to line it up perfect, not many people can drill through 1 inch aluminum and not fuck up to a side
