Does any one know much about z31s?:ugh:Today i tried to turn my car on. the engine rotated but it wouldn't start up. I thought maybe it just needed some gas cus i was running alittle low. then i get out n smell gas in the air.I looked in my engine bay n saw there was gas dripping from my exhaust manifold cover plate onto my steering column. If i ruptured a line or an injector which one could it be since its dripping in that particular spot?i tried looking through the intake manifold gap to see if the injectors were wet or something but i cant see anything obvious from there. anyways, could this be why my car wont start? All my fuel line n s guide up through the passanger side.

Sounds like a fuel like broke. Injectors don't exactly "rupture". It may help stating what kind of car you have.

Either way if you car is not get fuel delivered to the rail or not enough pressure on the other end it will just crank.

he did say what car it was (z31)

i'm with zak tho, sounds either a broken or rotted out fuel line, the same thing happned on my 240 but in the back last summer

I have a z31.first thing i asked.Does anyone know anything about z31s.thats a 300zx. I thought maybe the fuel injector hose broke 'ruptured' w.e.n thats realy weird it wasnt doing that last night :( I started the car n drove from BFE all the way home with no prob. then i find this out this afternoon. Is there supposed to be a buzzing sound coming from the injectors when this happens?

No buzzing sound. Injectors usually make a clicking sound when they are in use, meaning the car is running. If anything the buzzing should come from the fuel pump when it is tured on. Your best bet is to take off the intake manifold (if you have to, to be able to inspect the lines, etc...) and trace all the lines and the fuel pressure regulator first, before you point your finger at the fuel injectors. The metal lines may have rotted away, or the fuel pressure regulator may have failed. If that happened to your car this morning and not last night, it is possible that it may have started leaking last night. You may have been too tired to notice or it may have had its last trip last night...

check your fuel lines... i forgot how that engine looked like its been a while i had z31's and z32's im pretty sure its a fuel line i could be wrong i have 2 see a pik of the engine 2 exactly tell u

funny, a buddy of myns came by n i tried starting the car again while he pulled the throttle cable n it started up damn it! just like nothing happened..We checked if the leak was still happening but nothing..there wasnt any leakage.just signs that there was a leak cus the top of the steering column had a clean spot between all this gunk. Its kind of a relief but the fact that it did that n how it dripped on that particular side even though most of the fuel lines are in the passanger side, still worries me.Ill have to take of the intake mani one of these days n examine the lines.meanwhile,i hope i can drive without turning into a fireball or something.
