Moroso event newb friendly?

I have an 89 rx7 turbo II. The suspension is stock but it has more then enough go under the hood.

Anybody got any suggestions on which helmet I should get?

I tell you what....I ahven't drifted since last August...So I know i'll be there up front for the skidpad.....I dont wanna hit up the advance course and not know how im gonna do, as much as i know I would mostr likley be in understeer heavin and that would be unfair for the others, which is why im heading out to the skidpad...If I still have it or improve then I'll try out the track.........

I can say perosnally and vouch that everyone here for the majority are cool peeps....You just got to be outgoing in person like you are on the forums.....You just got to be very careful who you trust and who you don't dont, becuase unfortunatley there are dumb ass that love to con you and take your pride and joy away.......

Oh and by the way I all ready asked E30...I got first dibs on helping me out.....lol...j/k...

Main point point dont be a dick in person, be cool with peeps and you shall get cool peeps in return....

If you have the money don't buy a motorcycle helmet buy a DOT aproved SA 05 or better this way you have a legal racing helmet for any type of automotive racing (Motorcycle helmet is NOT legal on most autoracing since it cant hold fire for long periods of time like) SA 05 can. This event is going to be good for beginners and intermediate as well as "pro" level guys. I among many other drivers (Sean Love, Anthony Macaluso, Tim Moceri, guellermo etc...) will be sitting and drifting with the beginners and helping out with pointers etc.... so you will get lots of instruction with the event.
also looks like we will have intermediate course at third location on the road course.

dude dont stress it some of us have been drifting for a minute now and still spin alot (not saying any names lol) it happens until you dial in your car and really get use to driving sideways. Just keep your head level and don't worry about the crowd. -SAS

I have the possibility to buy a spot but now i gotta come up with a car to drive. I will help anybody that i can. FC hmmmmm never crashed one of those into a POLE before.

You should learn on your own in a parking lot or something before jumping in on an event.
Spectate the event and ask for pointers. Make friends and find locals near you to help you out while you work your way up to competition level.

sorry bro, i gotta TOTALLY disagree here

this is a perfect venue to learn, in a controlled legal environment with good instructors.

and this is not a competition

That helmet is only DOT approved. No Autorsports Sanctioning body will let you get near a track with that one. Not a good one at all.
Come on guys...It is your brains we are talking about!
You can get a Snell SA2005 for about $150 from G-Force, Zamp or Pyrotect.

Just double checked.
If you show up with a Helmet that is just DOT approved you will be only watching from the stands.
You need a Snell approved helmet Snell 2000 or better.

@ Moroso Drift Practice?

Yes you need to have a Snell aproved helmet prefered a SA2000 or newer but we will allow Snell M also for practice. Make sure that your helmet is this, sorry for the late info also Anthonyvop has the power to make calls, so please listen to his advice
