my friends rotary is ****ed up

hey my friend has a prob. with his rotary i could really use doris help...anyways his car is mad smoking it only smoke sometime when its idle,when he down shifts..but it doesnt constantly smoke..so i dont think its his apex seals.but i would love suggestions thanx. :D
 
Welcome to the broke down RX 7 club. :D Both my friends have two FC's that are messed up. Good luck with the fix though.
 
well has resnetly done in mods or wut kind of oil is he using has he missed with anything or did this smoke just come out of the blue.
 
you need to ask bunta (aka doris dad) he could just look at it and tell you whats wrong with it.
 
LOL itz a rotary they smoke but i bet yur apex seals r going bad by the way this soundz.time for rebuild

when the car soundz lika dump truk or sumthing.....houston we hava problem..watch out

one of my buddies rx7 smoked lik that because he had his oil line on wrong going wrong ways..
 
I doubt it is Seals. If it were seals it would have a hard start. Especially when cold. Most people dont know RX7s have OIL INJECTORS! Which gases a little smoke here and there which is a GOOD THING! Because the Houseing have no lubrication any other way! Suggest to run 2 stroke motor oil with every tank of gas! Trust me!
 
YES 2stroke!! i forgot my bro use to put sum in for sum LUBE bak n the day.my buddys uncle runs the rc nitro n his first gen witha 13bt.heh
 
im not sure if hes losing coolant,um no mods where done we dont know we got it like that but the previouse owner(our friend) had told us he just replaced the oil well thanx guys we will try acouple of these things and get back to tell you if it worked thanx...

cool ok well i checked today and he is not loseing coolant um thats about all i know for now and thanx for the oil tip um...still no progress we started her up today and if fired right up and i mean right up but it was smokeing alot there was alot of smoke at first and then not so much but it was still smokeing alittle..but thats all i know for now...ill post when i find out more and thanx again for the help..
 
Is it a S4 or S5 motor?

Another thing to check is pull one plug and crank(pull the ECU fuse also so no fuel or spark occurs) if you hear strong puffs ur seals r good if u hear PUFF PUFF puff chances are maybe seals. you only need to do one plug per housing.
 
i dont know about this s4 s5 thing but im not sure about rotaries but my friend said its a stock 13b...
 
hey we turned it on today and went ONE time only around the block and there was no smoke and i mean no smoke at all..p.s. my 95' 240sx has a prob. my front brakes work but my rear/e-brake does not work at all,we bleed the **** out of it we are gunna try it some more but if anyone has a suggestion that would be appriciated..thanx..
