real nice what kinda camera...?The eagle and lily are amazing.....it seems you have an artistic eye.

Point and shoot for under 350..well I have been out of Best buy for the past 4 years. But when I worked there Canon made really easy ones. So i would look in to them. I was a big sony player but they really havnt come far. :ugh:

A nice p&s I'd go with the canon g9. I know its a little more than you wanna spend but trust me the next camera you buy after will be a dslr.

I'm a big Canon DSLR fan but check out the new Nikon D40 I hear they an an inexpensive entry level SLR. Do plenty of research tho cause I heard they left out a few key features.

Hell no on the d40. You won't have AF with all of the Nikon lenses and you also limit yourself to Sigma lenses and not even all of those. Also you only have 3 AF points and like 2.5 fps. It uses SD cards instead of compact flash so if you get any other Nikon camera body your going to need to buy different cards.
Also you have to remember not everyone is ready to drop Lglass money. They want quality but don't wanna pay to play. Everyone I talk to I tell them your going to be spending atleast $500 on a good lens, with canon being the 70-200 f4L. I'm not sure about Nikon. People aren't ready to spend over 1k on camera gear just to get started.
Also your gonna have to use Pshop a bit. Which is going to be more time some people aren't willing to do. Also pshop isn't an easy program to learn, well the basics are but in depth stuff that people are trying to achieve isn't easy.

Oh I'm in now way a Nikon lover. I shoot canon, but there's some things that I like that Nikon does that canon doesn't. Like being able to fire flashes without having a flash connected to the body. But then with Canon you know what is the good glass because it has the red ring around it. Nikon you have to do your research on the lens and such.
