my take on drifting in south florida

Let me say this.
I love Florida.
I rep Florida at every event I got to with hats and shirts.
With that said.
Florida events don't bring it as hard as out of state events.
It's lack of organization, lack of professionalism.
Great that not everyone wants to be pro, but the event needs to be run in a professional manner.
Remember how much I love Florida and most of the people here....
Alot of people here are idiots. Whn I go out of state, I never once have seen people act the way they do down here.
Remember my love....
The drivers are the reasons the events suck down here.
Fix your fucking cars
show the fck up on time
don't bitch about price of anything.
It's expensive. Deal. If you can get the money, great. If you can't, that sucks.

Yo, like I can street drift for free, and there's no tech, and I can lie about it later on the internet 'cause it was just me and my cousin.

ps- single cam ka ftw, no ebrake ftw, open diff ftw!

Sometimes its kinda annoying to go out to homested for an hour then to shoot then to come back to a billion pm's asking the same question. "hey got any pics of me?" "did u get this car?" especially when the pics have been posted already with some people not even saying thank you. i do not have a job that i can upgrade to better equipment (camera/computer) so im working with a slow computer and sorta ok camera. with the price of the gear i need i can build a really decent drift car. i have been saving every single penny i make to get my stuff together.thats why i havent been to any events lately. no moe/juan im not taking your comments to heart.and i know u were not bashing on me or w.e media there is. we are struggling just like any other person on this forum.im just letting u guys know why i personally havent been out

ya no doubt, media guys get neglected and they do a HUGE service to us. I always try my best to offer Mars a ride to events if he wants to go. I don't expect anything from him in return as far as money. Sure he is my friend, but if he was just going for the hell of it, I'd expect some gas money, instead, I take great appreciation in the pictures he takes. I save every picture from any photog at every event- no matter how good or bad the drivoing/focus/angle is, because its all important to me.

you guys are the unsung heros of drifting. :)

Media at homestead lol.. The drivers take more media then anybody else lol.

Some how, I am sure we can all find a way to blame juan for this. lol j/k

now i dont consider my self a veteran per say, but my car is down right now, first time in a year mind you, and i still went to the skid pad on sunday and helped a few people out.

I see people begging for media passes all the time in the applications section and they get ignored

yet every event i see a million people taking pictures / shooting video and one picture threadd 4 weeks later lol.

The only people who post pics and videos
are

alexander
Me (driver)
Bert (driver)
Green machine (driver)

Roly sometimes lol

you know ive been club racing for 3 years
nasa, scca, pca, pboc, chin, hod, erme all of them ive got over 70 events everything for autox drifting and roadracing and i cant say ive ever heard complaining about shit like i hear with sfldrifters i think the biggest complaint i hear about is not enuff seat time. i mean really none of those guys are in this to be the next danica patrick .these are cars with a minumum of 10gs into them real race cars with roll cages fire systems slicks trucks trailers and rv..
there not bitching about not having media to get sponsors so they can be the next von gitten jr
outside of "the veterans" you guys know who you are .the guys at the proam events with cages and fire suits the guys driving and trailering their cars from palm beach to do a free demo at homestead (just for seat time)
i dont see these guys often but when i do see guys like juan ..
there not driving or complaining there running the events and squeezing a few seconds for themselves between listening to the little guys bitch about shit there not going to do anything about.......

ps you guys hating in the stands weather your drivers or spectators ...whos the real poser the guy sittin there talkin the shit or the guy in the car trying to make shit happen on a oreo cookie budget

my point
get your shit together ! fix your piece of shit car ! make it look presentable(very important) and support your scene !
and for god sake stop hating !
one person isnt going to make anything happen its going to take all of us to get our scene any recognition at all(media recognition) thats what brings the sponsors...then and only then will guys like bert ,jaun the others get the real sponsors and well get the real pro-am events

Jerry don't forget about my video camera took alot of video of almost every countyline event in 2009 and it really never took me long to post it! Although I'm not media!

Drifting attracts young people.

Young people in general are

a. poor
b. spoiled
c. easily distracted

So you have broke guys that can't afford events/parts/etc. They're spoiled so they complain about everything. And they're in and out of the scene b/c their interests change in a heart beat. Never made sense to me to analyze things much further. The guys that are really into it will always come back (or never leave), find a way to pay, and rarely complain.

god there are so many men on this forum that just steal my heart....

gsracer
tonymac
BEN
Abe
barefootdrifter
ofc dangle
boxmod
etc.... lol

the real enthusiasts will always shine

i think that is key!! sometimes the media people dont get people would love to see their pics, either goods or bad lol. and some get media passes and only post a couple of pics instead of more.. and like Jerry was saying, 20 people with cameras... and only 2 post in the forum :O???

Couldn't have said it better myself. I always meet people who want to get into drifting and after I explain to them the effort of getting a car prepped and ready to pass tech and getting wheels/ tires their eyes pretty much glass over and get mad because they can't afford it but yet they have an Iphone with full service plan and are wearing expensive clothes from outlet store and have a collection of $120 shoes.

They can't bring themselves to sacrifice some of the little meaningless things so that they can make it work.

i see this all the time as well, and i'm sure im guilty of it myself getting a job sucks right now, but there are the few kids who either 1. honestly dont have money and dont have that fancy iphone and clothes, it's just legitimetaly hard for them to get cash and resources which can be understandable or 2. they have the money for all that useless fancy shit but DO spend it on their cars/events/tires/misc. parts and those are the kids that get good and get somewhere.

so i guess just saying that sacrafice is a key to having a good car, lol
