Need help w/ ae86

crazy86

Spectator
have fuel pressure
have spark
gts engine and dash harness installed
turns over, but no go...

one thing that i'm pretty sure isn't helping the situation... don't know what size it is... if someone could look at their 86 and tell me what that destroyed pink one is supposed to be, and what the hell goes in the middle cuz it had no fuse or cables hooked up it'd be greatly appreciated.

also, this light blue plug near intake manifold... no clue where it goes...

and lastly (for now untill i find more dangling stuff) these near the oil filter area...

I had the same problem but mine was the timing was off. But I asume you just dropped the motor in and haven't touched the timing.

i'm starting to think that might be it cuz the kid that had it before the guy who sold it to me put on a new tensioner and timing belt... god i hope it's not timing...

any idea where the little dots on the cam gears are supposed to be when the motor is at TDC? i don't have a timing light

There should be a back plate thing behind the camgears. You will see like 2 indents on the top of each at about 12 o'clock. You just allign the dot or marking on the cam gear to that indent and that would the correct timing.

Or you can go by the pins on the cams. The left should be 12 o'clock and the right at 5 o'clock.

pretty old... i'm gonna drain the tank tomorrow and refill it...

but i'm almost positive the ecu's not getting power. i found the pinout so i'm gonna put in a relay and put power where it needs it and see if it works...
