update problem solved please read last post
Where do you all people with coilovers and aftermarket arms get your 240s aligned? Hopefully somewhere close to miami. Heres my problem:
After installing coilovers and adjustable arms (tension rods in front, rucas, traction rods, and toe arms in rear) I never aligned my car. It drove plenty fine - not perfect, but I could speed through on-ramps comfortably and felt confident enough in the highway even when raining and with a welded diff.
So some months ago I start getting a horrible clunking sound in my right rear wheel. Over the winter break I finally had time to check it out while I worked on the car. ONLY thing I did was remove the rear right toe rod, and grease it. I also had to remove the steering rack in order to change my motor mounts. no crashes, hitting potholes, etc
Well after driving the car again I noticed and insane pull to the left. It was undrivable....felt absolutely unstable even at lower speeds and you had to reaallly fight the wheels to keep it straight. I put it in the garage again and changed the inner tie rods since I was gonna get an aligment anyway.
I then set up an appointment at the Alignment Factory cause I had heard and read they were the best and dealt with track and lowered cars. I told the owner it was a lowered 240sx. Drove there at 25 mph all the way from doral. When they test drove it they couldnt believe I drove it in that condition....
Anyways once they put it on the rack they saw I had adjustable arms and told me it was gonna take longer and they were busy for the day, because I hadnt specified I had them (my bad...I thought you needed adjustable arms to properly align a lowered car). I conviced the owner to try and do his best since I had to drive to school and work.
They did do their best, and the car is better than when I drove it there. But it still feels like absolute shit compared to when I first dropped it on coils and put all the arms in my garage. They said according to the computer "it should be driving straight" but it doesnt. It pulls hard to the left, and feels very wobbly. Shifting will also cause a slight imbalance as if the rear wants to break loose. Not really worth the $120 I paid but maybe it was my fault for not telling them I had adjustable arms? whatever at least I can somehow drive it now...
Soo basically I need an alignment place that knows 240s and can get my car driving properly even if the "computer says otherwise" At the very least, I'd like to get it driving like it did before I removed the rear toe arm. Once again there were no accidents, crashes, hitting potholes, etc etc so I dont see why a professional wouldnt be able to at least get it driving like before. At this point I wouldnt mind driving to broward or whatever, as long as the place knows 240s and can gurantee they'll get it right. Dont feel like wasting more time or money....as long as is not some janky ass shop which wont even test drive it im open to sugestions!
