1 1/2 feet

yeah its pretty awesome, I was contemplating if I should get the 50mm f/1.4G that's coming out in December (this is a D lens for those wondering/care/even know what I'm talking about lol) or just stick with this. now that I have this one I think its more than enough for what I need. I just hate when the aperture ring clicks one over before I'm gonna take a shot and I have to click it back to take the shot. and the G looks great (not old lol)

Sweet! My 50mm 1.8 is my favorite lens. Great for shows and headshots. Canon's build isn't of greatest quality though, but thats my only complaint.

I hated my 50mm but loved using my friends 85mm. My 50mm sat in my bag for about a yr. My boss is using it now.
