Well i picked this up, its a 98 KA from Papasmurf with 68K on it with OBXR headers.... look

I just painted the valve cover pink cuz i was bored and i had to had some time til i cud put the motor in and to match my rims :D ... but i used high temp paint as a sort of primer and then used the reg POS wal mart paint as the pink...do u guys think its still going to chip and shizzle from the heat? I did 3 coats of high temp and 2 coats of pink

P.S. i did research and i found out that painting your valve cover gives you 10 HP and 15 on race gas.....holleratchoboy ;)

looks pimp the obx headers acttually look nice too...CLEAN THE MOTOR and engine bay before install also make sure you take all the gay emmisions crap off...

i painted my cover with rustolium house paint 50thinner50 thickass paint outta a spray gun. no problems yet set it being white and hare as fuk 2 clean unless i use an old sock it just smears ne color rag i use all over it. its a bytch nice though. thats the only pink cover i've seen. nice
 
maybe he should try putting a few layers of that over the pink, then it wont chip and be that nice shiney color!

hell yea you should do it and buy some flakes while your at it that way you can flake out the pink in the clear...lol

Do it anyway. There's plenty of people who have done it...hell, i have a pink roll cage (valve cover should have been pink too but we ran out of time, eventually it will be though). Do it right though and get good paint. I can give you the color code for my color if you want...wasn't cheap but it's real. Like $50 for a 1/2 a qt after hardener and reducer were purchased.

I was still planning on doing it. After all my Grill already is. If you can take a pic of your cage that would be sweet. I only seen a night pic of it. Thanks
 
My digital camera ate **** but I'll see what I can do. If I had to compare it to anything, I'd say it looked like radiated pepto bismol...I got the color sample from a Maybalene display at a Wal-Mart...tore off a big peice and went to Finish Masters for a color match. They could do an exact match but that was a multi stage paint and would have cost MUCH more so instead I got the closest they could get with a single stage.

that motor has been in 7 other cars and 6 of those cars got into accidents and one of the cars decided to go with an sr, which was the car the motor orignally came from the kouki
