No seatbelt law for Georgia.....

Copied:

Hard to believe, but Georgia remains the only state in the union not to require seat belt usage of either the driver or passenger of a pickup truck.

Oh, Georgia legislators have been trying for years to get a law passed, but due to some rural legislators, who have resisted, no seat belt law is in place.

The reason? Wearing a seat belt is an inconvenience for farmers and farm workers, who frequently hop in and out of their pickups as they tend the fields, and that there is too little traffic on Georgia's back country farm roads to worry about the risk of a collision with another vehicle... And so I ask, how is Georgia any different from any other state in this matter, especially neighboring states, that essentially farm the same crops?

If you scroll down to the comments you might notice that I was actually motivated enough to join and try to blast some sense into these mindless users on Edmunds

My comment:

WHO CARES?!!?!?!

All of you people who want to hold everyones hand make me sick.. all silly laws do is further encourage people to not use their damn brain

If you want to not wear a seatbelt, then thats your business. When you fly out of your car and die, thats also your business, your life.

Smoking should be illegal before any seatbelt laws are enforced (smoking actually hurts OTHER people). Most European countries have seatbelt laws, but the government pays for medical care in those countries so it only make sense. In those same countries, doctors get bonuses for getting more people to quit smoking and drinking.....oh my god... a country where laws make sense??? and you can't sue someone for driving into a tree or tripping over your own feet!!!

Until government in the US provides medical care for the people, they have ABSLUTELY NO F*!#IN RIGHT to tell anyone what risk they can/cant take with their own life and limb.

Personal accountability, LEARN IT

Ever wonder why school buses don't have seat belts?

I think if someone doesnt want to wear their seatbelt its their own business. I always wear my seatbelt and thats my choice. Everyone knows the risks and should make their own decision.

i think you're dumb to not wear a seatbelt. i think you should get a ticket if your kids dont have one on.

I believe its just good parenting to make your kids wear belts, but again, the Fed and state government dont pay for medical bills, so they have no right to tell you what to do in that regard. Under a certain age though a child can be poorly influenced by his/her parents, and current Florida law tickets the driver for any passengers under 16 without belts. I agree with that law.

Oh and if you don't wear your belts, then you cant realistically expect your kids to; its all about setting the example. Hypocritical parents are the worst...

School buses have seat belts. Just no one uses them, they tuck them into the seats.

I might be wrong, but arent my taxes paying for the cops and paramedics to wipe your brain off the road and pick up your body from 20 ft away when you are ejected because you cant take 2.5 seconds to push in a seatbelt?

And when the passenger without seatbelt gets thrown around the car and takes out the driver, then that stops being your business because it makes the accident more dangerous to other cars in the road

no i think its bullshit, if you choose to wear it then you choose to wear it, thats just it. the day i see someone fly out of their window and into someone elses killing the other person ill agree, but its not gonna happen. i normally wear mine but thats cuz i dont wanna die, not because some stupid pig is gonna fine me for not wearing it

This might be news to you, but firefighters and police are paid by the shift, not by how much/what they do. Besides, there is cleanup at any accident. Hell it might even save them the time of extricating person from the vehicle.

Or better yet, when person flies out of the car and dies, there is less work to be done at the scene. No extrication, no backboarding, no working the patient, no helicopter landing and stopping traffic for over an hour....

So now we are going to talk about POTENTIAL outcomes??? Using your logic we should stop kids from throwing baseballs, or playing in general. And ban golfers with more than a 20pt handicap from courses.....

The real solution to reducing road fatalities in this country is the simple glaringly obvious one that NHTSA refuses to acknowledge. DRIVER EDUCATION!!!

thats true cuz look at finland. in order to get your licsense you have to go to a driving school for a number of years. here all you have to do is f around in a parking lot, pass a written and claim the you have driven with a person 21 or over for a year.

If We Had To Take Driving School To Get Your License In Usa Everyone Would Be Riding Bikes Right Now Faggits And No Third Gear Bwoop Bwoop :(
