Odd thing happened to me...

1: BEN you sound like one of the smartest people on this entire forum.

2: My friends and I were in a TOOJAYS eating before school, late entry sohmore year, and it is an old person hang out. Right as we recieved our food, this old man started coughing and then CONVULSING (dont quote my spelling) and I remembered from camp that you were supposed to talk calmly to the person and make sure that their head stayed still. He stopped his seisure after about 15 seconds, and I immediately checked for a pulse, and nothing, so then I asked for the AED and one of the servers brought it towards me and right before I broke that out to use it, the ambulance had arrived and the police and the whole nine yards... in the end the old man passed from a heart attack. The siesure was something to the effect of shock or something, im not too sure about all the technical jargon, but for like a year after that it seriously messed with me. the man's wife wrote me a letter a couple weeks later thanking me for my courage and bravery and immediate action. it was just kinda hard to think about what i could have done different... BEN FROM ME>>>>>DONT DWELL ON IT MAN. YOU DEFINATELY WILL TAKE IT WITH YOU BUT TRY TO THINK POSITIVELY ABOUT HOW YOU ACTED.

True but the point that benarovi is trying to get across is that you'll get more of an emotional impact if someone you know dies compared to someone you don't know.

Your post makes you sound like Dolph Lundgren. "If he dies, he dies."

I get you.

I R DOLPH LUNDGREN

Just sayin'.

it sucks but dont sweat it, u did what u could, his wife is the only one that knew how bad he hit his head and if it was bad enough she shouldve called the EMT u couldnt have known but im sure its going to stick in ur headd for a while

Recovery Position

Wikipedia said:
All forms of the recovery position share basic principles. The mouth is downward so that vomit or blood can drain from the patient; the chin is well up to keep the epiglottis opened. Arms and legs are locked as to stabilize the position of the patient

Don't have any stories like that but I was curious about the recovery position as well so I looked it up. thought I would share

Edit: remembered something. Had a friend that was on a goped and he was hit by a civic. He totaled the civic. He also got up and walked away from the accident lol

yea this is for any unconcious patient who has no suspected spine injury and somewhat adequate breathing.it helps so in some cases the patient throws up, the the vomit wont go into there lungs and they die from a the acid eating away at there lungs.which has a 90% mortality rate
