I've always loved boats, and I really want to get a race boat. It takes some serious ball to do 100mph in 5ft seas. But Ill get Something Small to start with and work my way up. This videos are so inspiring.

Its one of those few places your being chased by a helicopter and its not cause you did something illegal!!

500 thousand is starting point. Most boats over 40ft are closer to a million.

I'm gonna look to start in the 22ft range with about 400hp and work my way up.

most all those boats are built in Florida!!!

Turbinemarine.com's "Demented" 200+mph 4000hp turbine boat

They are located in
Pompano Beach and make Sick boats.

i dont know much about that but i know those boats are nowhere near cheap...i love boats as well, my grandparents have a house in the keys and i love going so i can drive the boats... how exactly do you get started in something like that? just curious becuase i am looking for a boat at the moment.

i saw a boat sponsored by a Benz dealer at jetski of miami and that alone was impressive....i mean like the tralor horizontally rotared the the boat......that has to be a very and i mean very expensive trailor.. so imagine how much the boat ands hit has to cost.....and the boat was huge!!!!!! like if i had to measure it, we where in a G35 when we saw it and parked next to it, you would need at least 5-6 G35s to line it up next to that boat....it was intense..

You can be the navigator/throttleman and I'll drive!!!!
i wish i had enough money to spot ya cus that would be fun!....

in all seriousness tho, thats pretty cheap for what it is....i mean my uncle just got back into the game of the florida keys life style and is buying another boat....his new boat with out any options is starting at 50k.....and its already at 77k with the options he has added and he is not done yet....boats are expensive...we had an old seadoo speedster back int he day the twin engine mini jet boats and those things where fun...but we sold it due to engine problems (we used it with to long of a break period in between). ket ski's are fun too but nothing beats the thrill of driving a boat lol.

yeah I used to go to the world championships every year in Key west when I lived down there, I was on the start Boat for one of the Marathon races at the 7 mile bridge

1982ish my father started his own metal fabrication business specializing in offshore power boat building, fabrication and repair. 87-89 he traveled with the circuit from Atlantic City to Key West as an independent mobile fabrication shop for any team that needed his services. Today his business is in other markets. Id record the races on vhs and watch them over and over again. In kindergarten I didnt know what 13+7 equaled but I knew the different race teams, their corresponding boat numbers, their length and how much power each boat made.
