they are considered "cheapo" wheels because they are cheap. period.
now if you like the wheels then go for them. but there are other things to consider. weight is a big issue, especially when drifting and you rely on torque. now when it comes to wheels, you have rotational mass. wheels are what gets your car rolling. for every pound of weight you shave off your wheels, its equivalent to losing 10 pounds of weight somewhere else on your car. eg. if you get wheels that are each 5 pounds lighter than stock, thats 20 pounds you save, x 10 = 200. so its like you just shaved 200 pounds of weight off your car. and obviously weight is important in this sport which is why you see so many people with gutted interiors, carbon fiber parts, etc etc.
now personally i do own sportmax 002s. i liked the wheels and thats all my budget could afford. i still have to weigh those and then weigh my other wheels and see which ones are lighter so i can decide which to use for drifting. for now the sportmax are my daily wheels.
if you like it then go for it, but if your not in a rush and youre serious into drifting then i would save up for some lighter wheels. i think it was import tuner or one of those magazines that had an article on lightest wheels at this years SEMA which you may check into and find useful. but be forewarned, good constructed, light wheels will cost you.
hope that helps you a bit
