I'm Def all for it but the price cannot be out of control....

Just food for thought as Im sure you southerns know already...

200 for track time
100 for tires
100 for gas that means getting there and back from far distance such as Tampa or gainesville
100 for hotel rome - would probably get cheaper when split with homeys
20 bucks for food

So just with those things on my mind thats $520... for most people I know on these boards thats 2 weeks pay. Some simply cannot afford that. Which is why the street is nice as long as you're responsible and smart.

Now Of course Im willing to pimp out my girlfriend for the money.

But others dont have that option so obviously the cheaper the event the more likely you will fill your driver list minimum.

Harri any help I can provide such as promotions, working day of, etc... Let me know I'm down to help you guys out.

Yeah the problem is that we always pay something similar to that when we go to Orlando, even when we pay the amount that you hooked us up with. Since SFL has such an issue with venues, when the events come down closer, some are willing to still pay the same that we did to go to Orlando.... hence why some of us wouldnt mind paying a couple extra... especially since we're talking about a course now.

I'm all for making it cheaper if possible because we all could use some extra $ on our pockets, but as long as I end up getting the track time.. I'm happy. :bigthumbu

Yeah gas to orlando, hotel rooms, tires etc... it cost a lot to go to the OSW events, and you might get stuck there (ahaha I was stuck there for a month! good thing I could stay with my brother) Anyway If you're paying 2X as much for the track but saving 1x on gas/expenses then it comes out about the same for SFL people.

I totally Understand that. But to fill the drivers list to fit the bill is gonna require most of the states drivers not just the southern drivers. Im Sure Harri will work it out nicely.

^I'll beat you. I live abt 10mins away. :D

You can sleep with my Mom...she needs it anyway. Now you're at $420. Interesting.

i dont have a running car.........majormotionpictures@yahoo.com....send some pics i have some cash for your girl

ps. does she take checks

say when and where to send the paypal and ill have at least 8 people down for the event

i would definately shell out the money for the kart track. but I feel it shouldn't be that expensive for one or two corners on a road course.

OK, the Kart track is just too tight. I've driven it in a car and it is going to be very technical, have a lot of spins, waste a lot of time and it's generally low speed. I think most of us would rather do higher speed stuff. Also I get the feeling Moroso doesnt really want cars on it anyway. Everyone remembers what happened to Ocala GP. I promise you if we do that to Morosos Kart track we are never coming back.

Another reason not to use the kart-track, is that Moroso makes money if they can keep it open for regular use.

I would like to get the event price to around $150 or less, but we will have to see how it all plays out.

We are going out there in about 2-3 weeks to check it all out and see, but right now the idea I have is this:

Grid and acceleration: down the main front straightaway under the walkover bridge and making the left turn behind the tower. That has a kinda short straight section that would either be a 3rd gear double apex onto the SE portion of the track, (lower left in photo), or we could add cones to make it into a left, right, left S curve. After that theres a lil straight and then a chicane. I'm thinking that would be the course, and then you snake onto the dragstrip and use the 1/8th mile turn-around to get back in line.

That leaves the whole north section of the roadcourse (right side in pic) to MAYBE be used as a second course. I don't foresee any full-on hotlapping, but MAYBE 2 courses, MAYBE together, MAYBE you choose which one you want to drive during each session.

One big problem is that the north section of the roadcourse has about a 8-10inch dropoff in some parts from the track edge to the grass/dirt. This means if you go off at a decent speed, you have a good chance of flipping your car and you are gauranteed to do suspension/chassis damage. I don't really want to use the north section unless we can get it filled to the track edge. Maybe it already is. It's been a while since I've been on that roadcourse, and moroso is definitely trying to make the place a better facility. In a few weeks we will let you know.

Also I'd like to have a cone circle for some of the beginners to work on initiation and maintaining a slide, and a figure-eight area set up to help people with transitions, thats what the skidpad would be used for. Skidpad has sprinklers too so it can be wet or dry. Or Dawn soap..... hehe, worse than ice.

That's all for now, We will keep you updated.

That sounds like a great course, freethinker. I think you should put a cone in the middle of the double apex turn. There is way too much space in between the turns to make one straight drift with no switchbacks. If someone can do it, I am not challenging you, but I want to see it. So if a cone can be put to make that Irwindale style switchback, that would be sweet, especially for lower powered cars. I am no pro to be talking like this, but it is what makes sense in my head. A skidpad for beginners, like me, would be awesome. I wouldn't mind paying 150-200 bucks for an event like this. It just sounds bad ass.
