If i were to remove the whole PS system on my s13 what would i do about the rack and pinion getting fluid, do i just fill it and cap it ? i tried looking on Google and find nothing but worthless info. Any comments can help, thanks
If your power steering is broken just repair it. Much easier than driving that car with no powersteering and removing the whole setup, also the rack isn't made to not have power steering.
I feel like people open up a new thread page, then the first thing they think of, they post. I have personally posted in like 3 threads explaining why doing it is such a ba idea.
Your rack is a power rack, so it's geared for power.
A manual rack is geared for no power, so it works.
was asking a simple question its for the racecar they are building at my dads shop no need for power steering was just wondering how a power rack can work without the ps system.
ummm bingo. seriously though just switch to a manual rack if you're worried about it in the first place, or just leave the pump connected minus the belt. Unless your worried about that 10lbs thats keeping you out of the 8's
he works at the shop and yeh he is just filling it and capping it, but i wanted to know if there was any other method since they dont make manual racks for 240s
