"proper" ride height for best suspension performance

my pink car is high as fuck and i love how it handles. just ksport coilovers and a strut bar.

i have prob a 2 to 3 inch wheel gap

^ I have no idea why you asked this question here, there are only a handful of people on this board that even understand that making your car as low as possible isn't the best for performance driving. Much less why.

realistically if you have read all the way through that thread on zilvia (I have as well) you now know more about suspension geometry than 90% of SFLD. I would say the best ride height without getting crazy with drop spindles or RCA's 1-2"'s lower than stock would be the limit. Sure it doesn't look all that cool but your roll center will still be above ground and your roll couple difference between the front and rear won't be that bad yet.

less is more until you can correct it. Its the main reason my car isn't lower than it is. If I had RCA's on the front and could raise my rear subframe my car would be on the ground in a heart beat.

Im not gonna lie I have alot of stuff to learn about cars and many of the things discussed there were too technical for me or concerned with fully track prepped drift cars with modded knucles, raised subframes, etc....

But yes from what I gathered and from what one of my friends who used to do a ton of autox told me being slammed isn't the best. I have some nice coils and want to take advantage of them. Seems like I'll be raising my car a few inches. Maybe down the road I'll even add those subframe risers since it doesn't seem too hard on an s13

Well honestly the front suspension is more important when it comes to roll center since its a strut setup the roll center drops twice as fast as the rear since the rear is multi-link. I wouldn't do the subframe risers until you have done something to correct the front.

The reason I say that is if you install the risers you will increase the roll couple difference between the front and rear. In essence it will most likely hurt more than it helps. I would first look into getting adjustable front lower control arms before worrying about the rear roll center at all. Megan makes a set and they really aren't that expensive compared to other brands. They only give you around 15-20mm of adjustment but if you aren't stupid low it should be all you need. I wish a company made a cheap set of RCA's for my front control arms but my only choice that is a $1200 set of control arms from bimmer world.
