Ps Delete For S13

the ps pump is the tensioner for the belt. when i did it i just took the pumps internals out so it wouldn't seize and left it there. there might be a kit by now for it.
 
that is a bad idea
i ran no power steering for almost a year
after having it again i am pissed i drove all that time without it
 
why would u want it off? even doing a U turn is a Pain in the ass

Even if you did do that, it would be anything like driving a car that never came with power steering. You would have a power rack with no power. That shit fucking sucks.
 
i've done it and it's not that bad and you feel the road better. but im 6'2 250 so turning the wheel wasn't hard for me.
 
yeah i currently dont have ps on my shit now and its a pain in the ass...i have driven cars with out ps but it wa a miata...my 12year old cousin can turn it fine lol.

ya im 6'7" and 205
and its not hard to turn the wheel its just much easier with ps

but if you do delete it i need the lines and reservoir

you're idiots.
A power rack with no power is fucking terrible. The ratios are so fucking different and gay.
 
Driving is very possible but drifting with no powersteering you'll just be fighting with it the whole time and it will hold you back.
 
you can slide with it as well...but like josh said it will hold you back and at some points you will need to make the corrections yourself when normally the car will do it on its own.
 
the power gain would be so minimal and the drivability shot to shit. thats like doing weight reduction by removing a wheel. sure it'll be lighter- but its gonna suck to drive.
 
for track racing it might be better since you can feel the road alot better and there is not that many tight turns and stuff but for drifting it will be a pain in the ass, and daily it will drive you crazy! i hate u-turns! i've slid my car a few times and it sucks ass
 
Do it. but if your gonna do it remove all the P/S garbage.

the only time i ever have a problem with it is when the car is standing still and i turn the wheel. if I'm moving it's easy.

I removed it on my Z31 and the engine bay is so much cleaner and easier to work on.
 
if you have it why remove it? keep it. it will make life feel alot easier. and i dont think he is building a show car...doesnt have to worry about his engine bay lookin clean.
