Question regarding fuel pump

I need to change the fuel pump currently installed on my car and I have two others just laying around in my garage. They're used but worked perfectly fine. I know this for a fact since I took them off myself from my friends' cars and there was nothing wrong with them. Btw, I'm talking about a 240sx. All KA24DE's. Same OEM pumps. My question is, I once heard that it wasn't good to install a fuel pump that's been sitting unused for a while. Is this true?! I'm 100% sure they work perfectly fine. I just want to know if that is true. Is it really not a good idea to use one of them since they've been sitting for a while? Someone please help! I'd really appreciate it.

its like 10 min to replace one just replace it if it doesnt work then go back and you lose 30 min of your life it it works then your good
but i put on in a car that was sitting in the garage for months
