Ok I had a welded diff in my car to start with. I didn't like the chatter/clunk/chirp so I decided to man up and get a 2way. I got the diff bolted up and when I went connect the drive-shaft it was about a 1.5" gap between the diff and the drive-shaft. I pulled out the drive-shaft a bit from the tranny to connect it to the diff. I want to know is that normal? Also I went out and did a few donuts afterward and drove the car around for a bit only noises I heard were when I gas'd it around corners going slow (clutching there was no noise). Just want to make sure I don't have issues later on...holler!!

did you change your whole diff housing or just the internals?? is it a new diff? if its new it will take like a week or two of driving for it to start clunking and crackling

are u using a abs driveshaft?
non-abs driveshaft....

its a used diff already broken in(4wheeldrifts13's old kaaz) the diff came in an s13 housing but the piece that connects to the driveshaft seems to be skinner than my welded was....

well the driveshaft slides in and out of the tranny so maybe you pushed it in when disconnecting it from the other diff

as long as at least more than half of the end of the driveshaft is in the tranny i dont think it should be too big a deal.
