when i blip(tap on it real quick) the throttle why do the rpm's drop before they go up, i have a sohc and all the emmissions are removed other than that its bone stock, any ideas as to why this happens?

what do u mean a power issue? as far as vaccum i have a gauge hooked up and it reads a perfect 21-22 at idle, my old motor had the same issue and when i removed the emmisions from the new motor i used the old intake manifold cause it had the block off plates already on so im thinking it may have something to do with the iaccv valve

well with me wen i had something pulling too much power the car would do that(power issue) and i had a vac leak before and it would do that.........i wus jus giving suggestions

i appreciate any help:bigthumbu
and im still confused on the power issue by pulling to much power do u mean an accessory such as e fans is putting a big load on the alternator?

i dont think its the alternator, the one im using now is the one that came with the motor and its good, with the old motor and old alternator i had the same problem, i think im gonna swap the upper manifold and use the iacv that came with the new motor and see if it goes away

I'd say either IAC or fuel injector issue. See, your opening the throttle, you have air, yet you have a slight drop in the revs before it goes up.... So what I'd say is either the IAC is screwing up its readings for a second or your injectors arent squirting when they should. Replace the IAC first and let us know how it goes. I'm assuming this may happen when you rev up and let go of the gas too? Will it drop below the idle then go back up?

the 2 sensors on the intake mani right they right after the upper radiator hose they all connected, the sensor on the lower radiator hose went to the ac fan and removed the cable cause the fan was long gone

i just put the motor in this morning and i havent really ran it hard or revved it out so i coudnt tell u if it falls under idle, ill check tommorow, i remember the old motor did it sometimes and im using the iacv from that motor, ima swap it in the next few days and see what happens

UPDATE
i swapped the upper manifold with the other iacv and the rpms still go down before the go up and now it drops under idle, which is a smooth 650rpm(100 to low but no biggie)
im thinking of adjusting the throttle body a little more open and see what happens anyone gotz any ideas what else i could look into

clamp your fuel return line with a vice grip and see if it makes a diffrence. if it does you dont have enough fuel pressure.

Are you sure everything was blocked off properly with the egr, i had the same problem and my egr wasn't blocked off properly......I just read what homeskillet said and it makes alot of sense as well

the egr was blocked off properly by me, and im not having any vaccum issues, ima try what homeskillet said cause my fuel pump is going bad but have never had an issue with it

shoulda bought my bro's motor lol jk. ya my motor did it slightly for a wee bit but found a small pin hole and a vacuum line and bam, all good GL man
