Rally Raced the Evo

Driving around late one night I found a few Sand Deposits/ Quarries with great winding trails, so I decided to try out the off road qualities of the Evo. I must say that sliding around a turn in the dirt at about 50 is pure driving ectasy.

Here are some pics of the aftermath.

I know how you feel, I used to do it in hilly central florida with trucks and explorers, and sometimes in my dodge dynasty(lol) So I can imagine the fun you had in your Evo, much better than what I drove.

^+1!! I heart teh rally

dan you saw my video i made with all the dirt sliding in it right. thats why my s12 was always dirty

If you're ever in wpb, pm me. I've got a simply amazing spot you could rally. I started using it in 02 w/ my wrx and never got busted once (I would spend hours at a time there too). Since then, it hasn't changed much.

i think everyone should get practise on the dirt. it puts a different spin on things.

i practised on dirt once, and smashed headlong into a half-buried rock. We called it "Mount Nismo"

Same thing happened to me. It hit the downpipe and pushed the entire exhaust system back about 5 inches  Had to rethread the bolts. Dings all over the piping. Bent under strut bars.

your evo is too low for rally you should swap some stock 240 suspension in there that will give you better ground clearence for sure...

man I went rallying with my 2'' drop in the front and 1.4'' in the rear and I was fine... wasn't a smoothe place either ... also almost smashed my front end to pieces against a boulder, thank god for 300zx brakes and Dunlop FM901s gripping good even in the dirt :phew:

Crashed into a ditch tonight. Headfirst. Took a sweeping 90 degree turn at 55. Was good till the end of the turn when I hit a big dip in the dirt, and the car went headfirst into a deep ditch. The car was resting on the frame under the front doors. The car was stuck at about a 45 degree angle, back wheels were almost off the ground. Called a friend and they came and pulled the car out, almost didn't come out. Checked for damage and found that there wasn't any visual damage to anything, but I guess I'll find out tommarrow

Take it easy Sudo Kyouchi. you need to get a hang of the car man. not to knock you but take it easy it's a beautiful car.
***Unless you plan to switch it for a newer EVO9 MR :D***

Best of luck with the car dude.... be careful with rallying because since you have less grip on the tires, you can easily lose control and not be able to get it back before it's too late.
