NO REASON. im asking a simple question and the ways its looking im gonna do an rb no matter what you guys say. i mean i appreciate the input and comments but you guys get way out of hand. RB20 motorset is 1500 already at my door, 700 for mounts and wiring, and another 400 in FMIC & piping. and labor is not needed i have all the tools and shop space to do it. don't hate on certain motors for whatever bullshit reason. who cares about simplicity and finding parts if im thinking about this then dont you think ive put this into consideration and plus you dont build cars to be cheap. no matter what car or what motor you build if your gonna do it right YOUR GONNA SPEND A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF MONEY. plus i love the 6cyl sound way sexier that bullshit 4 bangers. thanks for the comments guys but i made up my mind. P.S if i wanted power not matter what the cost id drop a VG30DETT in there. Nicer idea and makes more power stock than the rb

rofl. anyway.. idk about the RB20.. you better change the head gasket, i hear they are nissan's 7M

it's not about going cheap, it's about using the extra money to build up more power, why pay 2500$ for 220hp from a stock RB when you can spend 2500$ and have 250hp+ (depends what mods you do)for the same price with a SR.

Or even for that matter, for 2500$ you can get a S15 engine and be at 250hp stock.

If you think an RB20 is a good motor. Simply put: You are a RETARD! For $500 more you can have a RB25. Either way those motors suck. I used to work at Drag and seen the same people buy RB after RB after RB. Unless it is a RB26DETT!

I don't know anything about exact weights of RBs, but I'd like to comment that any added weight is bad - regardless of where it is. DOHC I6's are particularly bad b/c of the high center of gravity.

t3/t04e (57trim) .63's make around 315whp @17psi on a RB20det and spool later than that. Also, check out those afr's - 12.0:1 at redline? Tuned. I'd even run a little richer and sacrifice some power. Maybe some specs and source of car/dyno would help.

And RB's can make power but when you consider that they can't rev worth a crap b/c of hydraulic valve train and long stroke or you blow engine after engine b/c of oiling problems and weak ring lands, you start to understand why its RB26dett or nothing.

Like I said, talk to Drag if you want the troof on RB's.

if your gonna drift i think 300 even 350 is welll OVER enough power to drift on shit even 250 is enough to drift on a nice size 17''wheel without dying out so if your shooting for 500hp your just tryin to drag race that bish so i dont know y u would need such a big engine anyway ca,sr,and ka will suffice for drifting......just my 2 cents
 
yea for drifting even an almost stock KA is sufficient, provided youre not in like D1 and sliding at like 80mph. but he may not be looking to build a drift-exclusive machine and may want more power

Wrong. The rb20 is roughly 60 lbs heavier then the KA, its the RB25 thats another 200 lbs heavier. Thats only bc of the tranny weighing so much, which isnt that bad since it helps your center of gravity.

that is a pretty crappy dyno sheet if your trying to shut some one up with. and for ur info this so 2 percent of sr having 500hp, well i guess im part of them, 505hp stock bottom end. ah! just right. no your facts before u open your mouth. do some reasearch first. there are plent of people pushing 500 out of a stock bottom sr, there are even ka doing that just check ka-t.org but havent seen an rb20 puttin out anything more than 370hp but thats with out me doing reseach. maybe not 350lbs, but anything adds weight, and with that, more ware and tear on the body, need to upgrade suspension, and braking, to properly handel the car. sr drops in no need to mod the chassis, and with those motor prices don.t forget to add prices to those motor mounts, and wiring. anyone can wire up an sr, search google even someone like yourself can do it, it thats easy. even as bmpc, drag, ruff racing they are all local shops and thell tell yo to fuck an rb20 and go sr and your prices are still way off i guess you just gettin ripped the fuck off. whats the problem pushing 500hp in a car that weighs 2800 i guess your little dick cant handle the power, if your looking for something pussy, sell your nissan to a real car owner thats not afraid of power and buy yourself a kia. go big or not at all. like i said before and ill say again, KNOW YOUR SHIT BEFORE U OPEN YOUR MOUTH!!!!
