Rb25det in s13...

Car was running fine.. I put it in sencond gear and slowly hit about 4-5k rpms and all of the sudden by its self the rpms went all the way too redline??.. I turned of the car quick when i saw rpms werent coming back down...

Now when i go to start it ,right away rpms go to redline and stay there...

What can it be? I checks accelerator pedal, throttle cable and its fine..

Really wierd never happened to me before..

Remove the intercooler piping going to the throttle maybe something got caught in there or the throttle body is stuck wide open

so what if something gets stuck in piping the idle will go all the way to redline?

and i doubt throttle is stock open because the cable doesnt move.. isisnt that the only way of opening the throttle? and doesnt the engine need air to go in or it will choke? and idle will drop? if so how does it rev up if throttle is closed?

dam thats going to be a bitch to find.. but it has to be something simple maybe because it was running fine and all ofthe sudden rpms go all the way up...

I even tried disconnecting the TPS and MAF and still same shit..
 
you can push the throttle body open....make sure it doesnt get stuck when you do so is what he was trying to say i believe
 
you can get an ecu from Rawbrokerage.com probably take about a day to get, but yea i was thinking maybe the tps was opening the throttle due to a short or something stupid...its an RB lol

But yea i would try an ecu, maybe ask someone around here see if u can borrow it...
 
You guys are retards that shit has to be mechanical there is no sensor that can cause the RPM's to shoot up to redline when you turn it on.

thank you! thats what am saying... thats why this shit is so wierd and since i never had a turbo engine, and my first time messing with a swaped rb specially i dont know what the hells going on...

ima try disconnecting everything and putting it back on idk..
 
have someone start the car up and you try to rev it by the throttle body. or see if it opens immediatly, if it does try and move it back down, if it doesnt go back down then somethins fucked up.
 
Fixed it..

Throttle was stuck open a bit and rpms were going up..
I ziptied the throttle and rpms were fine..
Now i just hope it doesnt get stuck again while im driving or somehting
