alright dudes i have a question first one to answer wins a million dollars and a kitty :D.... okay im just screwing around, but really i have a question. Im already driving and im driving around in a honda hatch '91 and im saving up money to get me either an s13 or an ae86. but dont know what to get? and if i get either one what should i do to the car for me to be able to start drifting? by the way i just got into drifting so bare with me and future essay long questions!! so please help and thanks for your time. :bigthumbu

Well, whatever you choose try to stay with underpower to learn about car control if your new to cars, the lower hp forces you to rely on proper technique and also helps tuning(suspension, tire psi, etc) and build confidence. When you can drift low hp cars decently than you can start on the engine. Another good and budget minded thing is the "stocker" your engine is with proper maintence in theory you'll have a reliable engine which means less downtime and more practice time :bigthumbu . Whatever car you pick you'll have plenty of people willing to help you out on here. Oh and you can't go wrong with the S13 or AE86 both are great cars.

S13, just save your self the headache.

First thing when you get it is get it up to spec on its maintenece, then Get a welded Diff or a VLSD (Did I just say that ???) Coilovers Ksports or megans but if you want to spend a bit more for something better get stances. Then a spare set of stock wheels.

Then after that is just things that make drifting more fun and easier you don't NEED them but they will increase the predictablilty of your car and in turn make the car more fun. Front tension rods, tie rods with spacers, subframe spacers, polyurethane Steering rack bushings, polyurethane transmission mount is good too, and don't forget a nice seat one that you find comfertable and supports you well.

well if u wanna be ghetto like i i did with manny's help,, cut them btiches i used a grinder, and make sure ur welds are good to hold the springs inplace with the struts,, and get good springs and thats fine also ,

Sell your hatch first Berian :ugh: , then you deal with buying a car after. But yeah I would say S13 FTW

GO FOR A S13!
good car to start drifting and later if you want more power you have a choice of engines to pick from like......sr20de, sr20det s13 red top or black top, sr20det s14, sr20det s15 6speed, rb20det, rb25det, rb26det, 2jzgte, 1jzgte or vg30de/vg30dett.
the sr20det's are the easies to install

Thats the truth, and how I started.

I love ae86's but if its your first "Drift" car, get the s13. It's just alot easier to learn in an s13 unless you can find a gts in good condition. I learned in a Coupe GTS. I swear I regret ever getting rid of it... :(

The s13 will definately be easier for you to learn on. More Torque where you need it and easier to upgrade/find parts at the junker.

I'd say get an s chassis for ease of parts alone. Its a first time drift car so if you really drift it, you will break shit, crash, ect.

S13 ftw plus imagine how many parts you can get from the noobs on this forum coughdancough.
