Eric O’Sullivan posted this on his blog from when he arrived in town on Monday. Looks like they are still hammering away on the Nissan GT-R. Clearly Robbie Nishida hasn’t gotten any seat time in this baby yet and the Streets of Long Beach is awful narrow. I said before I feel sorry for Robbie being thrown into this car without any testing on a chassis that has never drifted before. Even though Eddie Kim told me not to worry about him I just cannot help it. It’s going to be a tough order to step up at Long Beach but we will see if he can do it.

I don't know why they can't just bring the 350z out again for one event and get the damn GTR done for atlanta.

No, they are using the VQ35 engine because they wanted a tried and true platform before they started messing with the VR38 from what I understand. when They debut the car at sema, they hadn't even started on the car yet. The car only had livery all over it.
With the amount of time from Sema until the opening event for the season, I really didnt expect them to build on the existing engine cause it would have taken to long.
