rpm drop

ok so when imm coming to a light and put my car in neutral my rpms drop about 500 sometimes 400 then bounce to like 600 then stops at 750. idk wat it is. i have no sign of a vacuum leak. could it be my fuel pump?

i wouldnt say fuel pump because if it can maintain sufficient fuel pressure at 7k rpms then it certainly can at idle. sounds like your ecu is noticing that the idle is lower than it should be and opening up your iacv to compensate. so your engine may have a hard time breathing at closed throttle, do you have a way to open up an air bypass valve manually? if you do you can artificially raise idle that way but that just masks the problem. what i highly and personally suggest is seafoam. its never fails to improve idle. your engine probably has a lot of miles and built up carbon on the valves. follow the instructions and you should be good to go.

theres probably quite a few people on this board that can vouch for it. i swear by it. i've used it on all my personal cars, all showed at least a little improvement and always with idle. i dont recommend it in your oil pan. suck it up through brake booster, shut it down, let sit for 15 mins, start her up and let the smoke ensue, obviously that means to drive the car and drive it a little hard.

it should have some instruction on the back of the can. i also recommend an oil change after you do it. some of it will seep down past the rings and into the oil pan, it'll saturate your oil with a lot of carbon and so it'll come out black.
