s13 brake problem

Driver
my car brakes start to break by itself after i drive the car for like 5 minutes, i purge the system twice, but the problem continues, after a lil while the breaks gets smoking hot and the pedal go all the way up...

any ideas, stock s13 brake system.... may i use a z32 master cyl?or should i use the oem? that could be the problem?

im still 4 lug but im planning go 5 lugs with q45 front bakes.

thanks

If both brakes are locking up like that, it most likely is your master cylinder. If not you need some calipers... Is it the fronts or the rears?

at the begining seems to be in the front so i replace the front calipers, and after a test drive i found all the wheels were smoking....

Most likely the brake master cylinder is not working properly. Check for leaks around the master cylinder and on the brake pedal and around the pedal assembly.

Are you sure the brake fluid is not contaminated? Sometimes having fluids other than brake fluid in the system will cause sticking calipers.

For the Fronts, check for pinched/clamped/twisted lines. It could be restricting flow and keeping pressure in the brakes when you don't want it

For the Rears, check the lines as well. Also, if you recently adjusted the E-brake cable, it may be too tight, causing the brakes to be engaged.

If everything else looks good, replace the master...

yo my shit is doing the same thing.

i changed the master, swapped j30 calipers n rotors in the front, put ss brake lines all around. still the front wants to lock up

when i have time im gonna open up all the lines, flush the system then put new fluid in it. try that and let me know whats up!

so you replace the mc trying to fix that problem and it continues?
or you replace everything and got that problem?

i flush the system with new dot4 brake fluid.....

i had the prolblem...so i changed the calipers,MC,and stainless steel brake lines. only ting i didnt do is flush the system(which i should have) and yes i still have the same problem! you can have the top of the resivoir open and pump the brakes and there is nothing happeneing. no bubles or anything.

same here, i changed my caliper, like twice but it was the same, then i upgraded my calipers, at that piont i had to flush a lil bit of the fluid, so that helped its not as bad as it use to be
