S14 Megan coilovers clunkking

Ok so I was at pbir last weekend and the last day started to hear a clunking sound thought it was my o2 sensor since I had blown it out in a previous session. Got home and the o2 sensor was tight so lifted the car and started to play with the hub thinking it was worn out or something right side was solid but when I got to the drivers side saw that onto of the shock tower where the camberbplate is the shock has some play but the camber plate stays in position. Any clue what it might be? Something loose/ worn? Havnt had a chance to call megan just wanted some opinions.

Take off the adjustment knob and try to tighten the top nut, without spinning the dampner itself.

If I understand you correctly yes even as the car sits on them as in on the ground it still wiggles it's never done it before started that day.
