seat harness questions please help

ok so I finally have a bucket seat and OEM seatbelts that dont work, so before i die from wearing a non functional seatbelt (gayest death ever) I want to get a Corbeau 2" bolt in type harness ASAP. So i need to know if anyone has any experience with them because i need to know if the bolt in plates can be removed so you can wrap the harness to a roll bar. I dont have a roll bar yet so im gonna be doing it ghetto and bolting the harness to my rear strut tower. When I get a roll bar, i want to wrap them there so thats why i need to know if if the mount plates come off (are they wrapped to a bracket?) or are the stitched to the belt? Also since the 4 point cost as much as the 3 point should I just get the 4 point? is it safer? Thanks!

Get a 5-pt. Keep the stock belt until you have a secure place to mount the straps since a strut tower bar is hollow aluminum - or in other words, instant death. The instructions should show you how to install them properly when you get a proper harness bar.

Thats the thing my stock belts don't work, they don't lock when tugged anymore  and don't worry i wasn't planning on wrapping it to my strut tower bar lol, what i plan to do is put the bolt in plate onto one of my studs on my strut tower then but my cusco strut tower bar on top and then bolt it down. heres a pic i found.

like that, again this is only temporary, until i get a damn job  and can afford the roll bar! not my car BTW

bolting to that little bolt is a bad idea, and an even worse idea is to bolt both to the same bolt as the guy in your picture there.

If you can come up with an adapter plate to use the back seat shoulder belt mounting point along with both shoulder harness bolt on plates, you'll be in much better shape. Just don't make any sandwiches with these plates and one bolt.

damn so my only option is to bolt to body or wrap to bar uh? and bolting to body is dangerous without a bar so im really screwed. oh and my cars a two seater so i cant do that either.

One last question, anyone have a corbeau harness and can tell me if you can remove the bolt in plate to wrap them to a roll bar? thanks

yeah i do. and thats what i did. i didnt feel like bolting the shoulder straps so i took of the bolting templates and wrapped them on my rear strut bar. either or is fine but its more convenient to just wrap it.

also if you havent gotten a harness yet i have a brand new corbeau black 5pt 3" competition harness i'll sell you with the hardware. 150+shipping

Actually i need a harness ASAP but i cant afford anything more than the 2" 3/4 points but how low can you go with the harness because the site i buy from has them for $150 with free shipping  thanks again bro :bigthumbu
