well like the title says, does shaft play create lag. I do believe my turbo has quite a bit of shaft play just by listening to it and I'm not hitting full boost in 2nd (12lbs) till 6000rpm and 5600rpm in 3rd. its a stock sr turbo 3 inch straight exhast stock everything else

well, tomorrow im going to investigate however i started hearing a weird noise coming from my turbo area while driving, almost sounded like the corner of a piece of paper in front of a fan flapping but now it sounds like a im running open downpipe, so now i think maybe my manifold gasket or something might have blown, however im experiencing quite a bit of lag and wasnt sure if what i thought might be shaft play had something to do with that

im pretty sure its ur manifold gasket cuz mine was doing that and i changed the gasket and its all better now lol now sams is doing it too.

ya thats what pat said, but i knew he had to have gotten that info from someone else cuz he doesnt know shit like that

Shaft play has always been bad. Just elminate it, because some people try to go with it to either brake in the new motor and then upgrade the turbo. And or just to get the feel of a turbo by putting a w.e. brand turbo that blows and it then the turbo goes after that.

The worst thing can be if it moves foward and back.
