Single Cam Transmission vs. Dual Cam Transmission

Hey guys...I have a dilema...I have a 92 s13 that needs a new transmission. Luckily (thanks JDM180) I got a transmission for it. But I heard that the single cam transmission will give me more torque due to the gear ratio. I have both transmissions, the dual cam and the single cam sitting in my living room. Is this true about the single cam transmission, will it indeed give me more torque?
