ok so i have a fairly new spec stage 1 clutch flywheel is in pretty good condition and new throwout bearing and this is an s15 sr20de motor and the tranny is an s14 sr20de. so ive been having this problem ever since i swapped in the s15 motor before that it was ok. so basically it started slipping out of 1st and/or 2nd gear and making a grinding noise that i believe it makes when its slipping out of gear, correct me if im wrong, about 2 days after the swap. i pulled the tranny checked EVERYTHING and didnt really get an answer so i put it back together, bled the system, and it was good! woo hoo!! well that didnt last long and now yesterday it slipped in 2nd and it has been kind of hard to get into 2nd too btw, and today im sitting at a red light with the clutch in, in 1st gear waiting to go and it just starts grinding like it slipped out of gear or idk if thats right or if the clutch is just letting go idk so i threw it in neutral and persuaded it to go back in first and got home thank god and idk i dont want to drive it and fuck anything up. sorry about the SUPER LONG write-up i just want to be thorough in what is going on.

If you still have an auto pilot bearing in it does.

FML i dont remember changing it when we swapped the motor either that would explain it then....Steve did we change it? i know i didnt sooo...

ok so definitely didnt change pilot bearing ok now can anyone else back this up that the auto pilot bearing would cause this problem cause i would hate to pull the tranny again and do this and then have the same issue

Once you change the pilot bushing it should drive fine. You'll see the diff between both bearings when you buy the manual one.

^Yea I was gonna say something, but I didnt know your motor was out of an auto. Its not that big of a deal, just have to remove the old one and put a manual one in.
