so...

you should definitely notice some push (almost understeer-ish) i feel it a bit at times and i have a 2-way diff. Your rear end will hop and the tires may squeel, also the rear tires will wear out quicker due to this dragging/hopping. The only benefit to a welded is if you are trying to get off the line, or drifting. Daily driving may be a pain, but you sacrifice comfort for performance.

well my main purpose of doing it is to drift...so i guess i can deal with all the other stuff while the welded is in, until i can save up enough to get a good diff. :)

so i finally got my welded in today...and so far from what i have drove it...its not that bad at all. nowhere near how ppl make it out to be. although i havnt drove it in the rain....but i dont really notcie that much of a difference. so far i like it

im not sure about in miami....hell im not even sure in tampa...im just lucky enough to work at a shop where we have a badass welder. lol.

and i got a question...everything seems normal when driving except one thing...under decel...there seems to be some vibration in the rear...but goes away when i accel. is this normal with a welded...or is something not right?

i have all 4 brand new tires all the way around on the car...so im pretty sure its not due to bad tires. and the vibration isnt in the steering wheel, it more in the back of the car.

yea i just tightened them up and went and drove the car around the block....and smooth as if there was a regular diff in. :)

sometimes i rule out the simple common things

Rain can make a huge difference.

I have a welded diff waiting to go in. Meanwhile I keep on practicing/dd with an open. When its dry, I have no problem taking on-ramps at 60-65 and the car feels great. Lots of grip and no understeer, feels like I could push it even more.

However rain is a different beast. I was driving like a grandma today in the rain and spun out in an offramp....thank god there was only 1 car behind me and nothing happened :ugh: then I go to make a turn into fiu *slowly* and same shit, car starts sliding again...luckily i didnt spin out this time

Now i know for sure I aint installing a welded until I get my shit aligned and can drive in the rain without fear of dying lol

sounds like you need to learn to drive like a man i have a welded and i hit off ramps at like 50 in the rain and my shit dosnt brake loose.

bald tires WILL make it a sketch ride in the rain. not a good idea. be smart about it, but for me welded i take turns fast and if it kicks out ill just countersteer and keep on the gas. if you know how to control a car, youll be fine.
