It takes money to run a top notch rotary for the price of building a decent piston powered car.

uhhhh rotarys are amazing motors period. yes they blow up, but so do each and every other engine. Most of the time its because people who have them don't know what they're doing. If I wasn't so wrapped up in what I'm doing with my car then I'd have one for my drift set-up. It doesn't surprise me that they won lemans with one.
