i was wondering if this ever happens to you guys: i was coming home on 95 and decided to top out my car and for some reason my speed limiter does not work anymore. I got it to 5500 rpms and it never cut off. The spedo was way past 115 I estimate 125-130 and then as soon as i let off the gas the car just cut off. It just slowed down until i took it out of gear and put it back it. Then it let me accelerate again. My car never let me go this fast before and i am wondering why.... I put in an automatic guage cluster... u think that could have anything to do with it?
 
was it from a sohc or dohc and did you change the tachometer if it was from a sohc? mine never did that, but when i disconnected the speedo harness from the tranny i could go whatever speeds i wanted... you can always get an auto ecu and it eliminates the speedcut.... i had one with digital cluster and got to 139 before i started to slow down cuz i had a cracked windshield and didnt want that **** shattering

oh yea and stock speed cut is at 112mph on the dohc according to the digital speedo not 115
 
I depends on the tire your running also, witht he stock 205/60/15s i hit 115 had to be it was way past the 110 before it cut off...greddy makes an electronic kit thing to cut it out, but i say jsut get your ECU tune, Fuel, ignition,No closed loop, no speed cut.

Reading on NICO soposibly with stock spec tires gering lets us go 169MPH at 7K rpms which i think is TOTAL BULL****, our geared im guessing aroudn 135-140, also take into considerationt he ka dosnt make power after 5600prms in stock form , and also windresistance comes into play.
 
for some reason i cant get past 125... i have an auto ecu in my s13.. n my digital speedo never goes past 125... wtf?????!! all i got is 3 inch test pipe n exhaust... and a walbro 255
 
I think it was... you cut the 8th wire up (it's like yellow) going into the ECU and it removes the speed limiter but you still have a working spedometer... I need to find the writeup
