Wondering if anyone had any information regarding the price for an SR20 swap into an AE86.
Not motor/tranny cost...
Im talking about labor/afbrication/wiring (Ive read its not hard at all).
I was considering doing it myself....

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Oh yeah...Today we test drove my boy Jesse's SR S13 coupe (E'sfactoryS13)
And damn thats nice...lol.
Great motor. Never had any seat time with an SR.
Ive been in a 750whp Supra-powered IS, but the Sr still impressed me.
I could only imagine what it could do in a car as lightweight as the AE86.
Good times....;)

SAS...how many bills u think itll cost in ur opinion?

6grand in labor?
SHIT:eek:
Ive read all u need is modified Sr20 mounts, a
custom tranny mount,
bang the tranny up some,
modify the crossmember somewhat,
and 1 piece driveshaft I think. Then the simple ass wiring.
Should be less IMO...I dunno.

S13SilviaCoupe: Thanks, will do.;)

full swap including motor and tranny im gonna say some where around 5-6 grand

If you took it to a shop for 5-6 thousand you might get a redtop slap it in there with engine and transmission mounts; a drive shaft and the car running at stock boost. Stock sr20 is blah, so to bolt on a few goodies will bring the price up. Gonna have to swap the rear end too.

Stock SR is blah?? in an AE86 is blah? Im perfectly happy with a relatively stock SR.

Reply to this thread: SR in AE86 chassis will be an eyeopener. It will take some getting used to.. 4AGE was underpower, AE w/ SR will feel like overpower. if you do this you WONT be dissapointed but it will take getting used as far as drifting the car goes

Why not keep it Toyota and throw in a 3SGTE or go NA with a 3SGE Beams swap? I just dont see the point of swapping in a non Toyota motor into a Corolla, but hey its not my car and I may just be getting old. But I would stay Toyota for a motor.

Hibino's 300hp+ SR86 :bigthumbu

It is a somewhat common swap, I've seem it done a lot though out the world not just here or Japan. It would be cool to see one drift around here and getting parts for it can't be hard for an SR down here lol.

:bigthumbuThanks for the pics guys.

Yeah I would also like to keep it Toyota.
But theres so much aftermarket support for the SR.

The F20 is an option yeah but eh...not feelin it too much.
Great motor tho.

Redline03: that vid is sickness. thnks.:bigthumbu

Don't make me post a vid of this ;). It's like a 20v on roids. . .and thats just stock.

3SGE Beams swap? .

I like the way you think.
Beams 3S is for sure a bad ass swap.
But whats wrong with a 4ag?
redtop feels so great no power issues. what so ever.

Wish I knew how to upload, got a doriten with a pretty good hachi drift part.. all were sr minus the one beams.
