for an sr swap you'd need a new rear, pretty sure the shifter wont sit in the factory prosition so you'll need to cut a hole in the car, you'll need a new radiator, electric fans, and custom lines to hook up powersteering if you want it, u'll also need custom d/p. all that stuff adds up to the cost even if you do most of the swap yourself. it'll still be a sick swap tho i'm finishing my ka swap into my freinds sr-5 hasnt been to bad just been sort on cash

3 years on stock bottom end. making 350+ no problems... even overheated it nasssty a few times...still no issues.

My stock SR has plenty of balls =)

zenki_bodon, thanks and I agree a nice redtop with a few bolt ons would be great in the AE86. But since he seems to wanna a do a motor swap, I wouls suggest the Beams 3SGE. They are great motors, have 210hp(flywheel), high compression and they have a great powerband, especially in the AE86 chassis. I dont know why alot of people want to make alot of power in the AE86 when you will have alot of fun with just 150hp.

But again, I would keep it all Toyota. Its bad enough PRs drop rotaries into corollas and starlets, and others dropping F20C into corolla and older celicas. But again, its just my opinion.

and I was raised Toyota if u get what I mean.
My engine of choice would be a 3SGTE
or a 20Valve.
And ur absolutely right.
U can do alot in an AE86 with only 130-160hp.
I say it from experience.
My goal right now is a 16Valve with Mikunis.
If anyone knows anything about a 16V for sale PM plz.

Why not keep it Toyota and throw in a 3SGTE or go NA with a 3SGE Beams swap? I just dont see the point of swapping in a non Toyota motor into a Corolla, but hey its not my car and I may just be getting old. But I would stay Toyota for a motor.
