okay After the rebuild on the KA I'm going to be getting, and after that engines dies. i want to know.

what are the ups and downs of SR's like does it have problems with the rockers arms? rod bearings? cam breaking in half?

i just wanna know the ups and down to this engine. what do you like about it, and what don't you like about it.

If i go SR it'll either be from the X-trail, pulsar GTiR, or S15. I'm more leaned toward the pulsar GTiR because it's a built SR.

and the FJ will still kill a Sr but the problem with it is parts. there is no parts for it, all has to be custom made.

Whoever told you a GTiR SR is "built" lied to you.

GTiR SR's have 54c bottom end, yes but so does every black top SR (s13, s14, and S15). GTiR's have solid valve-train but you can easily do the same to any s13,14, or 15 SR.

There are no mechanical differences between the S14 SR and S15 SR so there's no reason to single out an S15 sr.

Both the X-trail and pulsar SR are both transverse where as an S15 SR is longitudinal. Idk what your goal is but if you're thinking converting a transverse SR to a longitudinal (or visa versa) is cheap or easy, you're mistaken.
 
my goal is to get to 250hp cheaply from what i read on wiki the S15 SR has 230hp (at the flywheel) so does the GTiR

and the X-trail has 280ps (correct me if I'm wrong)

that was just what i heard the GTiR was built, but i guess not. so the S15, and S14 would be a better choice?

in other words i could get it to 250hp with not alot of money where as i start with a engine that has 150 and it takes forever to get to 250hp.

i didn't mean by buying cheap parts

lol i was there. the guy talks about having 1500 HP in an FJ motor and shit and how the SR cant handle it. im like "why the fuck would i need 1500 HP in an SR? im not a drag racer last time i checked." he got pwned by honda owners also lmao
