okay, first I'm on SFLdrifters for a engine, I need one.

Second how do I fail? I managed to pull the engine out all by my self, thats not fail. I'm finally opening up to the SR and giving the god damn engine a chance, 250hp can be done the same way with a CA18DET, and CA's are reliable up to 300hp, around there they become suicidal. and for around 2K I can turbo a KA with more power then a Stock S13 SR makes and thats around what the engine cost too. doesn't it?

I'm actually putting work into my car, and I always find away out of my problems when it comes to cars, like if I shot the rack and pinion or something. I fail in recognizing the power a SR can lay down and it's reliability? Yeah, I failed but I wanna know more about the engine before I just judge it on it's head flow, and the fact that it's a aluminum block. The FJ is a good engine but like I told you street slider, parts are hard to find and you usually end up going custom, it isn't a very practical engine. The SR parts are everywhere, I can go in the WTB section and ask someone for a SR head, and I bet someone will have one laying around, parts is what makes the SR a practical engine.

I didn't make this topic so you guys can rag on me, I made it BECAUSE I want to find out more on the SR20 and get my facts straight on the engine.

The head flow on an SR is not bad. The head has a bad rep b/c of the rockers. Rockers do tend to break when people over-rev. Like mis-shifting bad or drag racing and bouncing off an 8+k limiter.

I have drifted and beat on SR's for years and never once broke a rocker - or any part for that matter. They're good all around engines.

You want to learn more about it, go here: http://autospeed.com/cms/A_110298/article.html

real talk i been on this forum shit for a while and sfldrifters for a while also and i swear i can predict how ppl are or how they gon end up just by there first couple posts lol

u were hopeless as fuk frm post one lol

i can tell ure mad young number 1 rule when getting into any forum

1.DONT ACT LIKE YOU KNOW ANYTHING

cuz den ppl like tonymac will shut your ass down and u end up with a thread like this lol

"okay things i hate about the SR

- head flow
- aluminum block
- rocker arms
- timing chain
- no piston oil squirter's

thats pretty much it.

if i could i would make a SR thats
- cast iron block (if you think the SR is light you're wrong it's heavier then a CA18DET, no I'm not lying look it up)
- better head flow (VE head would get it done i guess)
- direct valve action (I've yet to see this)
- timing belt ( :/)
- piston oil squirter's (yes, it's better)

show me a Sr that has 1500 hp? you can't because aluminum can only hold so much before it breaks, where as a cast iron can hold it stronger then aluminum."

LMAO!!!!! Why are you even asking questions, when you have such a closed minded opinion about the motor? I have an SR, I beat the shit out of my SR ... i have yet to have any problems with... Go ask those cool guys from SFL240sx.com about SR's, they know everything in that forum!!!!

so then y all the hate?

lol... another child that thinks he doesnt fail because he can pull an engine...
u fail because of all the rediculous threads you start on every forum...
i give half a golf clap...lol

i wanna see you do a quality turbo kit on a ka that will cost 2k. sure you can buy used turbos and ssac kits, but how long is gonna last. not long with ssac and if you find a good turbo in good shape for cheap then fine. but ive been pricing out my ka-t build that im planing and im over 3k. the sr, ca and ka are all good motors depending on your application. ka's rule in the bottom end, sr's have the advantage on boost cause its a motor manufactured for boost and so is the ca. plus the sr is a 2.0 vs the ca at 1.8 which gives the possibility for more torque. and the ca has been known to take its beatings well. its all about preference and cost. if you want an extremely reliable motor on boost go with the sr, ca's are hard to find with low miles so it more suspectable to go wrong. ka's can be reliable on boost depending on the internals and head work. with stock ka on boost. no more than 10psi is what i would recommend w/ bigger injectors. with the sr you can push way more with bigger injectors. like i said its all about preference. an easier way for u to decide to try and get a ride from someone with the motors u r considering. then decide what you like better. and next time search. you can find pros vs cons on all the motors even motor vs motor

Dude just stick to your Sohc KA and call it a day.. Btw what are your plans for the car?
